Job Description

As the ideal candidate, you'll need a drive for accomplishments. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage a variety of tasks within a fast-paced, collaborative environment, be solution-oriented while keeping tasks prioritized, and willingness to raise issues before they turn into problems, are important in this role. Strong organization, time management, problem solving, and communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate also brings creative and strategic solutions to the table to help solve complex problems and is someone who acts as a change agent to evolve processes and challenge current thinking. You will report to the Senior Hearing Manager.

What you'll be doing:

In addition to preparing witnesses for the hearing process, the Hearing Coordinator is responsible for all administrative tasks related to the hearing process such as:

  • Ensuring all employer documents are submitted for hearing
  • Register witnesses for hearing with state agencies
  • Request postponements when employer witnesses are unavailable
  • Provide analysis of potential further appeals on unfavorable hearing decisions
  • Submit appeals and briefs to Board of Review or Commission level

Qualifications

What your background looks like:

  • 3 years or more experience with unemployment claims and appeals process
  • Good time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously
