The Social Media Specialist devises, implements, and measures successful social media strategies and tactics across common and emerging platforms. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting account leaders across a variety of industry segments to ensure timely completion of client projects and other impactful deliverables.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Maintains in-depth and thorough knowledge of the innerworkings and capabilities of the most common social media applications including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, among others
- Brainstorms creative and actionable strategies and tactics for leveraging social media to engage key audiences through relevant content
- Conceptualizes various content and content types that align client objectives with trending topics of interest to audience members using social media applications
- Recommends various engagement approaches based on the unique characteristics of each situation
- Develops and implements strategic social media plans unique to the nuances of each storyline and/or client business
- Writes compelling and effective content that grabs attention in starting a dialogue and influences audience mindsets and/or actions
- Collaborates closely with Creative team on content development to ensure adherence to brand style and tone
- Develops and executes strategies for proactive social media listening programs to engage new users and community management processes to build brand affinity with existing users
- Identifies, manages and executes agreements with influencers on behalf of clients; fluent in navigating terms, deliverables and required disclosures
- Safeguards client-sensitive information at all times
- Reads and watches social media on a daily basis in order to maintain a real-time pulse of trending topics
- Measures, analyzes and reports performance via defensible data and actionable insights
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- 3 to 7 years of previous social media experience, preferably in an agency setting
- Proven experience in developing successful, strategic social media campaigns
- Successful track record of leveraging social media to help achieve business objectives
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex topics
- Experience managing multiple projects and prioritizing competing deadlines
- Relentless commitment to collaboration and active participation in a hybrid or remote work environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to apply feedback, as appropriate
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills
- BA/BS in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, journalism or related fields
- 10% travel may be required
