We are seeking a full time a Tier I Help Desk Support Associate to provide first-level troubleshooting for computer hardware and software problems, cable TV services, wired and wireless network, internet access, analogue and digital phones, e-mail and server access, and all other calls to the IT Support line.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Provides Tier I Helpdesk support for all issues submitted to the IT Helpdesk via Worx hub, telephone calls, or walk-ins.
- Maintains the Worx hub ticketing queue to ensure all work requests are resolved.
- Provides Tier I helpdesk support for all computer hardware and software problems.
- Provides Tier I support for all printers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and AV systems.
- Provides Tier I helpdesk support for all cable TV problems.
- Provides Tier I helpdesk support for wired and wireless network access.
- Provides Tier I helpdesk support for telephone service-related problems.
- Provides Tier I helpdesk support for e-mail and server access problems.
- Provides Tier I helpdesk support for all other work requests submitted to the IT department.
- Expected to fully trouble-shoot helpdesk support issues prior to escalation to Tier II support.
- Updating personal knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and maintaining personal certificates.
- Other duties and projects as assigned and necessary to maintain effective operations of the Information Technology department.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS- Associate’s degree, technical school diploma, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working in an IT support capacity providing end-user support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, copiers, file server access, and MS Office.
- Experience working with a Microsoft domain environment with Active Directory and Windows servers.
- Experience with Windows 8 and earlier Microsoft operating systems.
- Working knowledge of audio/visual equipment and Cablevision TV equipment.
- Working knowledge in supporting Apple OS and iOS.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and cooperate with and respond effectively to the instructions and requests from a diverse group and to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS- A+ certification
- Microsoft MCP preferred
- Experience with telephone systems
$20 - $25 an hour
