Lead Product Manager - Risk/LTV

Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2025 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About the role

Flex is embarking on a new phase of growth, seeking an experienced Lead Product Manager for our Risk and LTV team. In this role, you will drive the development of advanced risk models, enhance fraud risk management, and optimize monetization strategies for Flex's products. Your focus will significantly impact the consumer lifecycle with Flex, driving growth, retention, and satisfaction. Responsibilities include setting Risk/LTV product strategy, collaborating closely with engineering, analytics, finance, compliance, and other stakeholders, including leadership.

This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.

What you’ll do

  • Own product strategy and roadmap development for a risk domain
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure the successful execution of the roadmap by providing clear specifications, prioritizing features, and addressing technical challenges
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, compliance, legal, and risk policy stakeholders to define products that achieve department OKRs
  • Advocate for our customers by shipping products in the best interest of them and our business
  • Work closely with Flex’s Customer Support and Operations teams to provide the best possible experience to our customers
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, mentoring junior team members and promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth

Key qualifications

  • 6+ years of product management experience.
  • Proven ability to collaborate closely with engineering for successful product delivery (execution excellence).
  • Experience in fintech, banking, or credit products
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to comprehend engineering systems and architectures.
  • Experience with underwriting, fraud, or decisioning platforms is a plus.
  • Demonstrated quantitative skills, showcasing impact on metrics.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and adept communication of data-driven recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-directed and capable of working independently to drive project ownership and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Passionate problem-solver with a keen intellectual curiosity.
  • Highly motivated team player with a startup mindset, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.

For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $239,000 - $262,000
