About The Role

We are seeking a Director of Integrated Marketing, responsible for growing Fora's overall subscriber base with a focus on the core US market. In this role, you will own the comprehensive marketing strategy and budget to inspire, acquire, and retain travel advisors. Your work will range from fundamental ICP development and audience-specific messaging to channel strategy across paid and organic channels to managing and optimizing within our conversion funnel. You will directly manage organic marketing channels and will partner closely with other teams (Acquisition, Advisor Experience) to drive growth via key paid acquisition channels and retention / lifecycle initiatives. 

Reporting to our VP Growth & Data, this is a marketing leadership role with a direct impact on Fora’s growth trajectory — and an incredible opportunity to shape the future of our brand and community. You will directly manage a growing team of 5, while also needing to exhibit strong influencing skills in working with partner teams. 

Key Responsibilities

First Three Months

  • Take over monitoring key acquisition funnel metrics at Fora, building a keen understanding of what drives them
  • Come up to speed on our core user personas, needs, and motivators, and iterate messaging to directly appeal to them, weaving in a customer-first mindset
  • Build the next 9-12 month marketing plan, calendar and roadmap to deliver on it, including a stance on field marketing and sales as a core part of the strategy
  • Build relationships with team members, founders, and key cross-functional partners 

Ongoing Responsibilities

As you get your feet under you and ongoing, you will develop and own the end-to-end subscriber growth strategy on all fronts. In specific, you will:

  • Develop and manage the marketing plan to deliver acquisition and revenue/ROI targets aligned with company goals; analyze geographic and other segments to uncover high-potential areas for targeted growth efforts
  • Track, report, and iterate on KPIs to drive accountability within the marketing and growth teams and ensure investments deliver against CPA and ROI targets
  • Build the integrated marketing calendar, channel strategy, and resourcing plan, ensuring campaigns and initiatives are properly forecasted, funded, and executed on schedule
  • Be a leading voice within Fora to represent the customer and craft compelling, differentiated messaging that resonates with key audience segments while reinforcing Fora’s overall brand positioning.
  • Translate messaging into actionable creative briefs. Partner closely with creative teams to ensure content, visuals, and assets are optimized for each channel and audience.
  • Directly oversee content, social media, and brand marketing activities and iterate the Fora approach to sales and field marketing
  • Partner closely with acquisition marketing, advisor experience, and product leaders and their teams to deliver on acquisition and lifecycle/CRM initiatives that improve advisor engagement and commercial success, ultimately furthering the overall health of our advisor community

Key Collaborators

To be successful in this role, you will need to ensure cross-functional teams have visibility into key initiatives and timelines to maximize coordination and impact, collaborating most closely with:

  • Acquisition / Growth team to effectively deploy paid media budgets and optimize acquisition via performance channels
  • Creative team for ad creative and other campaign assets
  • Advisor Experience, to understand and drive retention efforts for and via the advisor community
  • Product & Engineering to optimize the entire funnel, from ad through on‐site experience
  • Finance, as you take on budget planning and forecasting

Requirements

You will need to be an independent problem solver who can figure things out from scratch and who leads with the needs of the customer. You are joining a data-forward team and will be held accountable to business results - strong candidates will be able to bring both an analytic and structured approach to marketing with a deep appreciation for the power of storytelling. To be successful, we believe you need the following experience and demonstrated skills/behaviors. 

Total Experience

  • 8+ years of marketing experience in consumer-facing businesses, marketplaces, membership models, or fast-growing startups. Experience in travel, lifestyle, or community-driven brands is a plus.

Demonstrated Skills & Behaviors

  • You’re a strategic, full-stack marketer with deep experience across acquisition, CRM, and brand marketing. You know how to build integrated campaigns that drive measurable growth and have managed annual marketing budgets in excess of $10MM+.
  • You think creatively about messaging and segmentation. You know the right message to the right audience is critical — and you’re skilled at tailoring creative strategies to different customer groups.
  • You’re data-driven, but not data-obsessed. You know when to dig into the numbers to drive optimization — and when to trust your gut, take a smart risk, and move quickly.
  • You have strong project management and operational chops. You’re organized, great at managing calendars, timelines, and cross-functional teams, and can juggle multiple priorities without dropping balls.
  • You’ve built (and love building) from scratch. You're energized by ambiguity and the opportunity to create new strategies, processes, and campaigns from the ground up.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments. You love working with scrappy, high-performing teams and are comfortable wearing multiple hats.
  • You have a passion for travel, entrepreneurship, and community. You’re excited by Fora’s mission and the opportunity to empower others to turn their passion for travel into a meaningful business.

Compensation

Compensation range for this role can vary widely depending on experience, and for this role an indicative range is $150k-$175k nplus equity and incentive compensation. Other benefits include:

This full-time role is based in our beautiful New York City office (Tribeca/Fidi) with lots of natural light and great views. Our in-office days are Mon-Thurs with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
