Job Description

We’re looking for a versatile, data-driven Direct Commerce Director to lead full-funnel growth for our direct-to-consumer water quality business. This is a unique opportunity to shape both high-level strategy and day-to-day execution within a brand-led, entrepreneurial environment.

As a core member of the digital leadership team, you’ll build and execute a holistic strategic roadmap for our digital business and footprint. You’ll own digital channel performance, optimize the customer journey, and partner with cross-functional teams to scale outcomes across acquisition, conversion, and retention.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on generalist growth role with the ambition to lead a growing team. You’ll work closely with content, lifecycle, and web optimization teams and interface with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of DTC initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Ownership

  • Serve as product owner for our digital presence and direct commerce operations.
  • Educate cross-functional teams on DTC best practices, digital KPIs, and growth frameworks.
  • Interface with cross-functional stakeholders including Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, and Business Intelligence to support DTC and eCommerce initiatives.
  • Manage junior digital team members and performance vendors.
  • Prioritize initiatives and allocate resources toward highest-ROI efforts.

Acquisition Strategy & Execution

  • Manage paid media channels (search, social, affiliate) with a focus on CAC, ROAS, and LTV.
  • Launch and scale new traffic sources (e.g., influencer, TikTok, affiliate pilots).
  • Partner with agencies or execute campaigns directly via Meta, Google, and other platforms.

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

  • Lead A/B and multivariate testing across high-impact areas (landing pages, CTAs, quote flows).
  • Identify user friction using heatmaps, analytics, and event tracking tools.
  • Coordinate UX enhancements to reduce bounce and improve lead and sales conversions.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Own dashboards and analytics reporting across platforms (GA4, Triple Whale, Meta Ads Manager).
  • Deliver monthly acquisition and conversion performance updates to leadership.
  • Use data to inform messaging, content strategy, funnel design, and media planning.

Site & Content Optimization

  • Create and implement go-to-market strategies for site optimization, UX, and SEO.
  • Manage and optimize core platforms including CMS, DAM, email marketing, and social media.
  • Oversee development of SEO-driven content pages and tagging/event tracking instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with dev and design teams to implement site updates with minimal engineering reliance.

Marketplace & eCommerce Expansion

  • Grow and evolve pure play eCommerce and marketplace programs, including digital shelf and retail media.
  • Manage data for product and marketing syndication across existing and emerging channels.

Mobile App & Platform Awareness

  • Maintain a working understanding of iOS and Android (Google) mobile application ecosystems.
  • Manage mobile-related platform enhancements or third-party integrations as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years in digital marketing, direct commerce, eCommerce, or growth roles
  • Experience across platforms such as Shopify, WordPress, WooCommerce, or similar
  • Knowledge of PIM systems for syndication (e.g., Salsify, Rithum, Akeneo)
  • Understanding of APIs, webhooks, and systems integration
  • Fluent in paid media platforms: Meta Ads, Google Ads, retail media platforms
  • Proficient with analytics tools: Google Analytics (GA4), Looker, Tableau, HotJar, Microsoft Clarity
  • Experience managing agencies, vendors, and junior team members
  • Strong communicator with the ability to prioritize tests, scale performance, and translate insights into action

Additional Information:

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $140,000 USD - $220,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
