Job Description

Are you a creative, driven and agile communications professional who can help shape internal and external communications strategically? As Director, Internal Communications at Fortune Brands Innovations you’ll play a leading role in shaping and delivering enterprise-wide communications programs and policies.

You’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on Fortune Brand’s external brand and internal communications and have a collaborative team alongside you, supporting you on your lifelong development journey.
 

RESPONSIBLIITIES:

  • Creates and drives overall strategy for all internal communications across multi-channels and multiple businesses for consistency of message, company reputation, and in support of key business objectives
  • Leads the strategic direction, development, coordination, and execution of internal communications initiatives for the business globally
  • Acts as key liaison between Corporate Affairs and multiple groups, including HR, Commercial and Ops
  • Works directly with C-Suite members including CEO, to effectively communicate essential key messages
  • Sits as member of HRLT to drive strategic vision across organization
  • Develops and implements new communications strategies and campaigns aimed at driving measurable results
  • Supports crisis communications, the Emergency Response Plan, the Community Relations program and the enterprise tool for communications
  • Strategically drives and executes transformational messaging for key strategic, high-Complexity/High-Visibility Communication Projects such as Culture, Purpose & VIA Plan Propagation Strategy and other communications
  • Directs and implements internal M&A Communications strategy
  • Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization
  • Work with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them
  • Manage Communications team including performance management, coaching, mentoring, developing staff and providing career development planning and opportunities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, Public Relations, journalism or similar major. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of corporate communications and/or agency experience required. 15+ years of experience preferred.
  • Experience managing people and teams.

  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities
  • Highly developed people leadership and interpersonal skills

Additional Information:

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $115,000 USD - $187,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
