Deal Desk Specialist Job Description
Position Summary: The Deal Desk Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the sales and channel teams by ensuring all deals are reviewed, approved, and processed efficiently and accurately. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to review contracts and invoices, and strong collaboration with sales teams to ensure compliance with company policies and ensure the smooth flow of business transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Deal Review and Approval:
Review all deals for accuracy and completeness prior to processing.Work closely with the sales team to ensure that all deal terms are in line with company policies and objectives.Ensure that all required data (pricing, contract terms, and customer information) is accurately entered into the system.Reject or request revisions for incomplete or incorrect deals, ensuring that no deals are processed without full and accurate information.
Collaboration with Sales and Channel Teams:
Act as a liaison between sales, channel partners, and other departments (e.g., finance, legal) to ensure a smooth deal flow.Provide timely feedback and guidance to sales teams on deal structure, pricing, and terms.Work with the channel team to ensure that partner deals meet all company standards and requirements.
Invoice Review:
Review and mark invoices for net new business, renewals, and customer expansions (additional licenses).Review invoice assignment and update sales reps based on the sales plansCollaborate with the finance team to resolve any discrepancies or issues found during the invoice review process.
Process Improvement and Compliance:
Ensure that all deals adhere to company policies, discount structures, and pricing guidelines.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of deal desk processes and support the development of best practices to streamline operations.Help identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements to enhance overall deal review and approval timelines.Ensure all documentation related to deals is filed and tracked in the CRM or other company systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in deal desk, sales operations, or a related role.
Strong understanding of sales processes, pricing structures, and contract terms.
Experience working with sales and channel teams to ensure smooth deal execution.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to review and analyze complex data.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce)
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of billing and invoicing processes.
Experience in SaaS, technology, or other B2B industries.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
