Asset Management Specialist

Who we are

Gatik, the leader in autonomous middle-mile logistics, is revolutionizing the B2B supply chain with its autonomous transportation-as-a-service (ATaaS) solution and prioritizing safe, consistent deliveries while streamlining freight movement by reducing congestion. The company focuses on short-haul, B2B logistics for Fortune 500 retailers and in 2021 launched the world’s first fully driverless commercial transportation service with Walmart. Gatik's Class 3-7 autonomous trucks are commercially deployed across major markets, including Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada, driving innovation in freight transportation.

The company's proprietary Level 4 autonomous technology, Gatik Carrier™, is custom-built to transport freight safely and efficiently between pick-up and drop-off locations on the middle mile. With robust capabilities in both highway and urban environments, Gatik Carrier™ serves as an all-encompassing solution that integrates advanced software and hardware powering the fleet, facilitating effortless integration into customers' logistics operations.

About the role

We are seeking an Asset Management Specialist to oversee the management, tracking, and maintenance of company assets, ensuring optimal utilization, compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining a detailed asset registry. This role requires a meticulous approach to asset lifecycle management, financial reporting, and process optimization. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate asset records, coordinating asset movements, and ensuring the longevity and reliability of all assets. This role is crucial in supporting the operational and financial needs of our AV fleet and infrastructure by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in asset tracking and reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in asset management, financial reporting, and ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, within a technology-driven environment.

This role involves a combination of office-based work and hands-on asset inspections. Occasional travel to operational and vendor locations may be required.

What you'll do

  • Maintain and manage the company’s asset records within NetSuite, ensuring accurate classification, valuation, and depreciation calculations.
  • Track asset acquisitions, transfers, and disposals while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of asset records with the general ledger.
  • Develop and implement asset tracking and auditing processes to maintain data integrity.
  • Collaborate with finance, procurement, and operations teams to ensure proper recording and reporting of all assets.
  • Generate and analyze asset reports, providing insights for financial planning and decision-making.
  • Assist with audits by preparing relevant asset documentation and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding asset management and depreciation policies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in asset management and NetSuite workflows.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in fixed asset management, accounting, or finance.
  • Strong proficiency in NetSuite and fixed asset modules.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.
  • Experience in asset tracking, reconciliation, and depreciation calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

At Gatik, you'll be at the forefront of autonomous logistics, ensuring the safety of our drivers and the success of our mission to deliver goods safely and efficiently. If you're passionate about safety, compliance, and making an impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment, we’d love to hear from you!

More about Gatik

Founded in 2017 by experts in autonomous vehicle technology, Gatik has rapidly expanded its presence to Mountain View, Dallas-Fort Worth, Arkansas, and Toronto. As the first and only company to achieve fully driverless middle-mile commercial deliveries, Gatik holds a unique and defensible position in the AV industry, with a clear trajectory toward sustainable growth and profitability.

We have delivered complete, proprietary AV technology - an integration of software and hardware - to enable earlier successes for our clients in constrained Level 4 autonomy.  By choosing the middle mile – with defined point-to-point delivery, we have simplified some of the more complex AV challenges, enabling us to achieve full autonomy ahead of competitors. Given extensive knowledge of Gatik’s well-defined, fixed route ODDs and hybrid architecture, we are able to hyper-optimize our models with exponentially less data, establish gate-keeping mechanisms to maintain explainability, and ensure continued safety of the system for unmanned operations.
