Position Overview

GMO is seeking an intern to join our Emerging Country Debt (“ECD”) investment team. The ECD Intern will contribute to the ECD team’s work, which focuses on generating excess return relative to our benchmarks or client objectives and producing thought leadership and pitch materials for marketing as well as client review materials.  The Intern will develop and improve his or her investment and communication skills by working closely with the team’s researchers, portfolio managers, traders as well as Fixed Income strategy and product management.

 

The position will be based in Boston where GMO is operates in a hybrid work model.  The ECD intern and their manager will agree on an appropriate in-office/remote schedule.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Familiarize themselves with the investment approach of the ECD team and their competitors

·         Develop a set of marketing materials that highlight the team’s unique style and capabilities in light of this familiarization


Required Skills and Characteristics:

·         Current undergraduate student with a demonstrated success in their chosen field of study and extracurricular endeavors.

·         Strong Excel and power point skills.

·         This role is ideal for proactive, intellectually curious people, who can prioritize, multi-task, manage time sensitive  deadlines and strive in a team-oriented, collegial and collaborative environment

·         Analytical and problem-solving skills: must be able to synthesize information, identify the most important elements, and arrive at a conclusion

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with a wide array of investment professionals and other internal partners at GMO.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


$21 - $25 an hour
This rate of pay is estimated for this role and actual pay may be different based on a candidate’s qualifications and/or years of experience.
