Physician Assistant - Pain Management

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our dynamic pain management team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our specialists to provide exceptional care for patients with acute and chronic pain. You will be integral to assessing, diagnosing, and treating pain conditions, as well as assisting with interventional procedures and coordinating care across multiple offices in Brooklyn and Queens. Your contributions will ensure that patients receive comprehensive and personalized pain management, enhancing their quality of life.

Job Type: Full-Time
Work Hours
: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment decisions.
  • Work with the supervising physician to develop and implement personalized pain management plans, utilizing both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
  • Assist in performing interventional procedures such as joint and trigger point injections, nerve blocks, and more, under physician supervision.
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests (X-rays, MRIs, lab studies) to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Educate patients on pain management techniques, including medication options, lifestyle changes, and long-term strategies for managing pain.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. Facilitate referrals to specialists when needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and ongoing professional development activities to stay current with advancements in pain management.
  • Navigate insurance guidelines to ensure timely approval of services provided to patients.

Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 per year, plus health insurance and performance bonuses.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current NY state licensure and certification as a Physician Assistant.
  • DEA#
  • Previous experience in pain management or orthopedics is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in conducting physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating differential diagnoses.
  • Demonstrated competency in performing interventional pain procedures, such as injections and nerve blocks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
