We are seeking an experienced Lead Ultrasound Technologist to join our Gate Parkway location in Jacksonville, FL. This full-time leadership role is ideal for a professional passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and supporting a team of diagnostic sonographers. Breast Registration with ARDMS and experience with breast sonography is a must.
Position Overview:
The Lead Ultrasound Technologist performs and oversees sonographic examinations as ordered by referring physicians, ensuring excellent service and patient care. This leadership role also involves coordinating daily clinical operations, mentoring team members, and maintaining high standards of performance and patient experience.
Essential Functions:
- Perform and supervise high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures, with a focus on breast ultrasound.
- Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and ensure proper file identification.
- Demonstrate advanced competency in diagnostic procedures and equipment operation.
- Oversee and participate in patient interactions, including obtaining medical history and explaining procedures.
- Ensure exam accuracy by reviewing patient charts/requisitions and verifying diagnostic needs.
- Maintain clinical quality by managing room cleanliness, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with the radiology team to ensure consistent communication and patient satisfaction.
- Scrub future patient schedules to confirm order accuracy and availability of prior images.
- Provide mentorship, training, and support to Ultrasound Technologists.
- Conduct quality assurance on imaging studies and manage department protocols.
- Lead continuing education efforts and maintain department certifications.
- Assist with administrative tasks and management directives as needed.
Required Experience and Personal Characteristics:

Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited program in diagnostic medical sonography.
- ARDMS Certification (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with at least 2 years in a leadership role preferred.
- Breast ultrasound experience and ARDMS Breast Registration.
- Proficiency in OB/GYN, Vascular, and General Ultrasound.
- Current BLS Certification.
