Editorial Manager - Next Gen

Hello Sunshine is seeking a highly skilled Editorial Manager to lead editorial strategy for a vibrant, engaging space that celebrates creativity, identity, and empowerment for teenage girls. In this role, you will translate the brand’s editorial voice into written, video and social content. You will implement a content strategy to effectively reach our target audience of teenage girls who want to see themselves reflected in the stories we tell.

As Editorial Manager, you're a strong writer, producer and visual storyteller. You are both an operator and a creator skilled at shaping series, individual stories and social posts. You are excited about leveraging social analytics to inform editorial decisions, and have a track record of innovative storytelling for a D2C brand or media outlet. You are highly collaborative and are excited to join and partner with a small team of producers and social media managers to ensure each piece of editorial  content is engaging, relevant, and aligned with our brand’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an editorial strategy that reflects the voice, values, and mission of the new brand.
• Oversee daily editorial planning—assign, edit, and publish articles, social copy, and multimedia content.
• Manage a small team of writers, freelancers, and content creators, ensuring high editorial quality and diversity of voices.
• Stay on top of trends in teen culture, social media, entertainment, and lifestyle to keep content fresh and relevant.
• Work closely with the social, video, and design teams to create engaging, interactive content optimized for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms.
• Develop a strong editorial calendar that aligns with cultural moments, pop culture, and important issues for teen girls.
• Establish and maintain an authentic and inclusive brand voice, ensuring content is both aspirational and relatable.
• Collaborate with partnerships and marketing teams on branded content opportunities, ensuring any sponsored editorial aligns with our values.
• Use data and analytics to track performance, refine content strategy, and grow audience engagement.

• 3-5 years of experience in digital media, editorial, or content strategy, with a strong background in writing and editing.
• Deep understanding of teen girl culture, digital trends, and social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube).
• Strong editorial judgment with experience in creating content that balances entertainment and empowerment.
• Experience managing writers, contributors, and creative teams.
• Ability to translate audience insights and analytics into editorial strategy.
• Passion for Hello Sunshine’s mission and a deep commitment to authentic, inclusive storytelling.
• A mix of big-picture thinking and hands-on execution—you’re as comfortable brainstorming high-level content pillars as you are editing copy.
• Experience working with branded content or editorial partnerships is a plus.

This position offers an estimated base salary range of $70,000 - $80,000
