Sr. Director Editorial and Programming (Maternity Leave Cover)

Hello Sunshine is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Director of Editorial and Programming to drive forward content strategy across Hello Sunshine social, newsletter and experiential moments to create and grow engagement with our fans and followers. This role will play a pivotal role in working collaboratively across the company to deliver on editorial programs that bring our stories to life in effective, creative, and authentic ways.

The ideal candidate will have professional experience pitching and executing content across video-centric social platforms, as well as be able to bring those content ideas to life for an in-person event. They will also have strong editorial experience at a digital publisher with an ability to translate brand voice into an engaging consumer-first experience. We want an inspiration senior producer who’s both creative and analytical with strong experience working cross-functionally. They will work closely with the creative, social and experiential teams offering insights and support to develop compelling video, audio, and editorial content production.

This role is a temporary position, based out of Los Angeles or New York City, designed to provide coverage for an employee going out on maternity leave and will have a duration of 5 months.

Some of your day-to-day will include:

  • Direct the creative and social teams, as needed, to build compelling social first content that drives audience engagement and growth
  • Build and execute strategic and collaborative talent opportunities to deliver on existing editorial themes, drive new editorial territories and audience growth
  • Collaborate with cross-department team members and effectively partner with the various Hello Sunshine content teams to produce social and editorial plans that deliver on their goals and objectives
  • Identify and synthesize consumer/audience, cultural and brand insights and platform data that will be used to build strategic and creative editorial strategies and plans
  • Manage a team of content creators, strategists and community managers and operationalize for effective and fast-moving content development
  • 10+ years professional experience with in-depth knowledge of the audience growth, content strategies, and insight analysis for social media platforms (Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Discord, etc.)
  • Experience translating talent-led narratives into engaging content across social, digital and experiential channels
  • Strong copywriting experience is a plus with ability to maintain consistency with brand tone and voice
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay organized in fast paced, early-stage environment—understanding how to iterate quickly on new ideas
  • Experience managing complex social calendars
  • Experience establishing, tracking, and communicating KPIs to management with actionable recommendations to grow audience. Must have the foresight to adjust on the fly to any positive or negative trends.
  • Analytical mindset and the ability to use data to inform decisions
  • Proven track record for being a self-starter, solution-oriented strategic thinker, and creative collaborator
  • Active problem-solver with strong decision-making capability
  • A leader committed to fostering an inclusive culture and embracing diversity of thought and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This position's salary will be pro-rated for the duration of the contract.
