Social Media Editor - Instagram

Highsnobiety is seeking a creative and culturally attuned Social Media Editor to assist in content production and community management for our Instagram channel. This role requires someone who deeply understands Instagram's ecosystem and its audience preferences, with a knack for creating engaging and culturally relevant content. The ideal candidate will have experience in copywriting, content creation, and social video production, with a sharp eye for emerging trends and cultural moments that shape our industry. 

YOUR MISSION:

• Curate and Source Content: Identify and source relevant and on-brand content for our main Instagram channel and vertical pages.
• Produce Original Content: Ideate, create, and execute innovative Instagram-first content, including video and static posts that align with our department’s objectives for the platform.
• Craft Engaging Copy: Write culturally attuned, compelling copy that resonates with our audience and enhances the impact of our content.
• Community Engagement: Actively engage with the followers of our main Instagram channel and vertical pages to foster an interactive and connected community.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with social media and editorial teams to repackage content for Instagram in a way that aligns with the platform’s audience preferences and ensures impact.
• Stay Ahead of Trends: Monitor Instagram trends, adjacent communities, competing publishers, and emerging app features, and adapt strategies to ensure content remains fresh and relevant.

YOUR SKILLS:

• 1-2 years of professional experience or a strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to create engaging social-first content on Instagram.
• Passion for fashion, style, and cultural storytelling, with a sharp awareness of what drives conversation in the industry.
• Exceptional copywriting skills with the ability to write engaging and culturally relevant copy both long- and short-form.
• Proficiency in video production, including filming and editing social-first videos, with experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and InDesign).
• Strong understanding of Instagram’s algorithm, trends, and best practices, with an ability to create content that drives engagement.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of detail and quality.

The range is based on many factors including location, experience, and relevant skill set. In addition to salary and an employee benefits package, successful candidates will be eligible for variable pay.
