SVP Property & Casualty

The Senior Vice President (SVP), Property & Casualty (P&C) is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and management of personal lines insurance products. This role ensures profitable growth, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance while driving innovation and market competitiveness. The SVP collaborates across functions—including marketing, distribution, and technology—to enhance product performance and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Product Management

  • Develop and execute a long-term strategy for P&C personal lines products, ensuring alignment with business goals and market demands.
  • Oversee pricing, underwriting, and claims processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across multiple geographies.
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities to drive growth and competitive positioning.
  • Leverage data analytics to monitor trends, assess risk factors, and optimize product performance.

Financial & Risk Management

  • Manage P&L responsibilities, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Interpret key financial statements and metrics to make data-driven decisions.
  • Develop risk management strategies to mitigate exposure and enhance underwriting performance.
  • Oversee property exposure management and ensure alignment with corporate risk appetite.

Technology & Innovation

  • Lead initiatives for digital transformation and technology upgrades, optimizing underwriting, claims processing, and customer engagement.
  • Drive automation and analytics-driven decision-making to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with IT and digital teams to modernize systems and improve the customer experience.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Mentor and develop talent within the organization, ensuring long-term succession planning.
  • Manage cross-functional teams and key stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Enhance customer service and agent retention strategies to drive loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Engage with industry leaders, regulatory bodies, and investors to maintain market credibility and compliance.
  • Adapt to changing market conditions and regulatory landscapes, ensuring business resilience.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in the entire insurance value chain, including personal lines products, pricing, underwriting, and claims.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements across multiple geographies.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale technology transformations and operational changes.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management and product development.
  • Ability to analyze claims data, risk factors, and market trends to drive strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with senior leadership, investors, and key stakeholders.

Experience Requirements:

  • 15-20 years of experience in P&C insurance, with at least 10 years in personal lines insurance.
  • 5-10 years in leadership roles at a divisional or department level.
  • Cross-functional management experience, including product development, underwriting, claims, and distribution.
  • Exposure to large-scale technology overhauls and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Preferred experience in pricing, actuarial analysis, claims management, or multi-channel distribution models.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Business, Actuarial Science, etc.).
  • Preferred: MBA, CPCU, or Casualty Actuarial Society designation.

 

Pay Range:

Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
