Work Schedule: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Sydney Time) / 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Philippines Time TBC)

Salary: 1,000 - 1,700 AUD / monthly

Contract: Independent Contractor

Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Research Assistant to work remotely to provide essential Data and Reporting Support for our team. The Research Assistant will work closely with the Workflow Manager and Data Solutions Lead, assisting with critical operational tasks that support the success of our research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Processing & Validation

• Data entry and cleaning to ensure accuracy and readiness for analysis.
• Coding of open-ended survey responses.
• Validating coded responses for consistency and quality.
• Checking the accuracy of crosstabs, analysis banners, and constructed variables.

Survey Testing & Validation

• Testing survey scripts to ensure logic, flow, and accuracy.
• Identifying and reporting any issues in survey functionality or user experience.

Report Production

• Formatting reports, charts, and data visualisations based on templates.
• Proofreading and checking reports for accuracy and consistency.
• Supporting the writing of front-end sections of reports (e.g., background, objectives, methodology, respondent profiles).

General Data and Reporting Support

• Assisting with fieldwork updates, including monitoring survey progress and quota management.
• Downloading and preparing data for analysis.
• Providing administrative support for data-driven tasks and reporting requirements.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage personal workload effectively, optimising the overlap of business hours between Sydney (AEDT) and the Philippines (PHT). 
• This includes proactive planning, self-organisation, and efficient time management to maximise common working hours (e.g. 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Sydney Time) / 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Philippines Time TBC).
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to test and validate survey scripts with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for report proofreading and formatting.
• Familiarity with research processes and an interest in data handling.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies, including AI-powered solutions, with a continuous improvement mindset toward identifying inefficiencies and proposing practical solutions to enhance business processes.
• Previous experience in a research or data-related role is preferred.
• Familiarity with quantitative research processes is an advantage.
• Prior experience with survey script testing and validation is desirable but not essential (training will be provided).
