About The Position
KIPP Foundation’s Formal Learning Team is seeking up to eight dynamic, passionate educators as contractors to join a pool of professional development designers/facilitators that lead centralized leadership development at KIPP. You’ll design and facilitate in-person and virtual professional development for a group of 50-150 principals and principal managers during sessions. If you are passionate about equity-driven leadership and interested in facilitating transformational professional learning, we encourage you to apply! The work spans through January 2025 to June 2025.
Convening Dates and Location (including but not limited to)
February 6th-7th middle school virtual convening (4-hour virtual training on both days)
February 13th-14th elementary school virtual convening (4-hour virtual training on both days)
February 24-27th principal manager convening in-person in Chicago, IL
May 13th-14th new principal cohort convening (TBD)
May 15th-16th (TBD) new principal manager cohort convening (TBD)
Approximate weekly hours of work: 1-5 hours (depends on how much lead time one has based on start date)
Responsibilities:
Design Sessions: Design outcomes-driven and experiential professional development sessions aligned to our Principal and Principal Manager Core Skill Rubrics, Leadership Competency Model, and Adult Learning Principles
Create resources: Create facilitator guides, participant handouts, session slides, and any other resources required; all resources should be easily turnkeyed by schools
Lead professional development: Facilitate between 1-6 engaging and impactful sessions for educators
Analyze data: Synthesize survey data and adjust design and facilitation to improve participant experience
Collaborate: Meet with KIPP leaders to gather input and feedback on session design
Rehearse: Engage in a virtual and live dress rehearsal for feedback
Continuously Improve: Incorporate feedback for continuous improvement

Subject Matter Expertise in Adult Learning - Well versed in adult learning frameworks and instructional design models; able to design, develop, and implement professional development for diverse adult learners
Work Management: Displays an owner’s mindset and effectively sets goals and priorities to work through complex bodies of work. Develops and implements agile project plans, navigating difficult situations or conflicts while maintaining effective relationships with all stakeholders. Skilled in knowledge management, developing and codifying processes across teams and functions to improve work quality and efficiency.
Communications: Effectively articulates case and teaching points through clear and compelling presentations, tailoring communications and engagement approach for different audiences.
Experience and Qualifications
Current or former principals or principal managers with at least 3+ years of experience in the role
Leadership coaching with a track record of coaching diverse leaders to drive student outcomes through layers of leadership
Experience with guiding/strengthening the performance of principals through targeted coaching cycles.
Experience with collecting, monitoring and responding to data
Experience with translating coaching concepts into measurable outcomes
Requirements:
US-Based Educator: You live in the US and have a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of school leadership experience in K-12 education
Travel: February 24-27 to Chicago, IL (depending on hire date)

This role is remote.
Compensation:
$1,200 per full-day in-person workshop, with travel, lodging, and meals reimbursed, with prior approval.
$200 an hour for virtual sessions (1-4 hours long)
$200 an hour for collaboration meetings and session design hours
