Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of general accounting tasks including bookkeeping, and financial tasks, including record-keeping, report preparation, bank reconciliation, and managing Accounts Payables. Reporting to the Controller, this role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This is a full-time employment opportunity working in our Headquarters Office in Boca Raton.

Qualifications:

The following qualifications and responsibilities serve as a position overview and are not exhaustive. Employees are expected to be team players and may take on additional tasks as needed. 

• Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated successful staff accounting experience 
• Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures, with a focus on Accounts Payable and Receivables
• Competency with QuickBooks or similar Accounting systems preferred 
• Positive attitude, extremely organized, excellent communication skills and self-motivated
• Strong computer skills, high rate of literacy and ambition to learn
• Extremely proficient in Microsoft office, including Word and Excel
• Attention to detail coupled with high demands and continuous improvement opportunities
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred 

Responsibilities:

• Provide accounting support to the Assistant Controller and other senior staff 
• Provide operational support by managing Accounts Payable, verifying wires for loan funding, preparing payments, and coordinating with vendors, loan servicers, and counterparties on outstanding payments.
• Reconcile accounts and General Ledger bank statements
• Prepare general ledger entries for import to the company’s Accounting system 
• Research and correct discrepancies as necessary, maintaining proper documentation
• Assist with streamlining processes through automation where possible and prepare various reports as needed.
