Procurement Analyst

The following is an overview of the role and what we are looking for in a successful candidate.


POSITION OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to oversee all aspects of procurement activities within the organization, blending strategic procurement functions with daily purchasing tasks to optimize cost control, supplier management, and overall procurement efficiency. The Procurement Analyst is responsible for researching key suppliers, negotiating purchase agreements, acquiring goods, and managing the supply base to ensure alignment with company standards and goals. Additionally, this role involves analyzing consumption trends, sourcing and interviewing vendors, preparing purchase orders, order management, monitoring expenses, and implementing process improvements. Effective communication with stakeholders and proficiency in procurement software systems are essential to succeed in this role.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


1.Procurement & Sourcing:

•Manage the procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services related to fiber infrastructure, network equipment, and operations.

•Develop and execute procurement strategies that support business goals, cost savings, and operational efficiency.

•Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all purchasing activities.

2.Vendor Management:

•Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors while maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers.

•Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions.

•Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

3.Inventory & Order Management:

•Oversee inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock, ensuring alignment with project timelines and company needs.

•Track and manage purchase orders, deliveries, and returns to maintain smooth operations.

•Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely receipt and distribution of materials.

•Work alongside the Accounting team to resolve invoice issues and help close financials timely each month. 

4.Market Research & Cost Analysis:

•Conduct market research to identify new supply sources, industry trends, and cost-saving opportunities.

•Analyze purchasing data and supplier performance metrics to optimize procurement decisions.

•Provide insights and reports on procurement KPIs, cost efficiency, and spending trends.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES


•Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

•Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

•Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

•Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

•Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

•Knowledge of industry regulations, fiber optic equipment, and telecommunications supply chain preferred.

•Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES


•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

•2+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing, preferably in the telecommunications or fiber internet industry.

•Requires skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, and literacy in the program management disciplines.

•Demonstrate history delivering programs on time, on budget, and in scope.

•Ability to appropriately identify and escalate risks to the program or business.

•Competency in Microsoft Suite applications

•ERP experience (NetSuite preferred)


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES 


•CAPM, PMP or other program management certifications

•Project management experience in telecommunications industry

•Start-up experience a plus
