Senior Designer/Motion Designer, Social Media (12 Month Contract)

We’re looking for a Senior Social Media Designer/Motion Designer with strong conceptual skills - a creative thinker who also excels in motion design. You are extremely knowledgeable in social media platforms, know the latest social trends, and understand the importance of paid and organic campaigns. 

This contract role with full time hours is integral to the social media centre of excellence (COE) as you’ll be driving the creative concepts for the big campaigns as well as dreaming up assets aimed to entertain our customers across all social media platforms.

• Collaborate with the creative lead, writers and content managers to create engaging social posts (including both still and animated content)
• Lead projects from concept through storyboards to final social assets
• Transform storyboards into dynamic animations that support brief objectives and engage audiences 
• Work effectively with external partners such as photographers or illustrators when required
• Present creative concepts to marketing partners
• Pitch bold ideas and effectively articulate creative choices during client presentations 
• Navigate fast-paced working environments and deliver projects in a timely manner 
• Source music/sound effects and use expressions to create enticing videos that enrich the consumer experience  
• Adhering to strict guidelines to maintain brand integrity across all channels 
• Ability to take direction and apply client’s feedback to elevate creative work

• Advanced graphic design and typographical skills
• Solid motion design experience 
• Excellent understanding of effective and unique advertising on social media
• Advanced ability to quickly react & adapt to business needs with initiative and creativity
• Ability to prioritize and lead multiple deadline-driven task/projects in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform in and feed into a team environment
• Excellent organizational skill
• Ability to create effective, original advertising materials on tight timelines
• Ability to respond to emergency asks due to timeliness of social trends
• Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the design profession
• 5 or more years’ experience in graphic/motion graphic design in a marketing environment or in an advertising agency
• Working experience with design, storyboarding, motion and social
• Strong Demo Reel showcasing a diverse range of high-quality animations/video    
• Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Great sense of timing, motion, weight, and form. Thorough understanding of how physical objects move through time and space
• Solid understanding of post-production processes, compression techniques, video formats and technical requirements/restrictions for various platforms   
• Knowledge and experience following AODA requirements
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple timelines        
• Exceptional communication skills
