Director of Education and Training

The Director of Education and Training will serve as a key leader, driving the design, implementation, enablement, and continuous improvement of our educational programs and curriculum across all centers. This individual will ensure alignment with our mission to deliver high-quality, innovative, and inclusive early education experiences. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Education and Training will collaborate with educators, center directors, and stakeholders to elevate standards, support professional development, and ensure measurable educational outcomes.  Key initiatives will include building a complete pedagogical practice for the organization including curriculum design tools; engineering and implementing employee learning; developing and instituting career planning of high-potential candidates; and, influencing an inspired culture of engaged learners, both children and teachers alike.


The ideal candidate is a highly relational and hands-on leader with a passion for early childhood education. They will bring a proven track record in people leadership and a talent for building strategic partnerships. They will have deep expertise in ECE principles and practices, innovative curriculum design, and a commitment to fostering continuous improvement while cultivating authentic relationships to strengthen the education department internally and externally. 


Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a forward-thinking educational strategy aligned with Magical Beginnings' vision, mission, and growth objectives.
  • Curriculum Development: Lead the design, refinement, and implementation of evidence-based, developmentally appropriate curricula that meet state and national early education standards, including evaluation and adaptation of technology-enabled applications.
  • Program Quality Assurance: Develop and implement systems to assess, measure, and improve program quality to ensure a consistent and exceptional educational experience across all centers.
  • Professional Development: Oversee the creation and delivery of training and professional development programs that empower educators with knowledge, tools, and innovative strategies.
  • Family & Community Engagement: Foster strong partnerships with families, educators, and communities to promote trust and ensure programs meet the diverse needs of children and families.
  • Data-Driven Results: Use data, research, and assessment tools to monitor program effectiveness, drive improvements, and measure outcomes.
  • Innovation & Best Practices: Stay informed of the latest trends, research, and best practices in early childhood education to position Magical Beginnings as a national leader in the field.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of education professionals to promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Champion inclusive practices that ensure all children, regardless of background or ability, have access to equitable, high-quality educational opportunities. 


Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in early childhood education, including 5+ years in a leadership or curriculum development role.
  • Proven experience in curriculum design, program implementation, and teacher professional development.
  • Strong understanding of early education policies, state licensing regulations, and national quality standards (e.g., NAEYC, QRIS).
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to inspire and guide diverse teams.
  • Experience leveraging data, assessments, and research to inform educational strategy and improvements.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.
  • A deep passion for early education and a commitment to delivering excellence, innovation, and equity.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and move for 60 percent of the day without discomfort. 
  • Ability to perform computer work for long periods as needed. 
  • Lifting capacity of 25 pounds. 


Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic for on-site support during acquisitions and new school launches.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, fostering team-oriented collaboration.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and adaptable, capable of managing uncertainty and problem-solving creatively.
  • Previous experience with acquisition and integration leadership required.
