Partner Sales Lead

Maven is the gold standard in post-grad education for product, design, & engineering professionals. We’re looking for an experienced salesperson to recruit subject matter experts to teach on Maven.

Role Overview

Today, 500+ experts teach courses on Maven; the top tier make over six figures a year. These are execs from Amazon, Figma, Airbnb, Stripe, OpenAI.... Maven offers them an end-to-end software platform to run their course marketing, manage their syllabus, and take student payment. Your role is to source the right expert partners to teach on Maven; you’ll identify prospects, pitch them the opportunity to build and sell their own course, and close them. You’ll scour the internet to identify experts with an affinity for teaching, are at the right point in their career arc, and have the credibility to create a high impact course. You’ll help them see why teaching on Maven will be rewarding for them, personally, professionally, and financially. Your responsibilities are:

  • Sourcing: continuously build prospect lists against new course topic areas
  • Recruitment: do outbound outreach, inbound qualification, and direct sales
  • Operations: develop and implement systems to efficiently manage your pipeline

You will work alongside Claire, who built the initial sales system and has brought on hundreds of instructors who have earned millions of dollars on Maven. While a v1 of the system is built, you will have incredible ownership to shape and upgrade each part of the sales process into a powerful v2.

Team & Culture

This role sits on the supply team, a key growth driver for the company. Maven is committed to having a small, empowered team (currently 18 total), so you should be excited to do your own market research, strategic thinking, end-to-end sales, and day-to-day operations.

We are high-ownership and high-collaboration. We post regular status updates to dedicated slack channels to get input. If you’re blocked, everyone is there to help (but otherwise we’ll assume you’re on it). This makes Maven a great cross-functional learning environment. Expect direct feedback!

Ownership, collaboration and feedback are not just nice ideas here; we are fully remote, so they are the foundation of our success, and we are intentional about them. We are a writing-focused company, with no-meeting Wednesdays for creative space. We gather for a week-long offsite twice a year so everyone in our lean and talented team can contribute to company strategy, and get absurdly competitive over random games.

What We’re Looking For In This Role

  • Comfort pitching prospects at an executive level
  • Experience leading a high-touch, Zoom-led sales motion
  • Understanding of critical career skills in the tech economy
  • Mastery of the written word, and best-in-class email communications
  • Quantitative understanding; we run course analytics on Metabase

Compensation

$160k-$210k in salary, with strong benefits, and equity. Salary is open to review based on candidate experience; please apply if you know you’re a great candidate.
