Mining Solutions Specialist

We are looking to add a Mining Solutions Specialist to the GeoScience team. The role will report to the Vice President, GeoScience or the Manager, GeoScience, depending on the region of responsibility. The role will be based out of the MineSense head office in Vancouver, Canada or out of the MineSense regional office in Santiago, Chile.


The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of how MineSense technologies benefit the mining industry, combined with an unrivaled ability to convince industry clients that bulk ore sorting with MineSense technologies will improve their business. You will work closely with the business development team to identify prospective clients globally, adapt MineSense solutions to their problems, and gain client buy-in through online and in-person engagements. You will develop proposals and upon acceptance, design implementation protocols for the MineSense solutions that minimize time-to-value delivery. The Mining Solutions Specialist guides the MineSense team and the client through the execution of the implementation protocol and supports the smooth transition of project ownership to the MineSense customer service teams. Job Responsibilities:
  • Technical Sales:
  • Support the business development team with the identification and engagement of prospective Mining clients. This will include background research on potential clients, discovering and developing Use Cases, ranking of opportunities, and development of client relationships through your network, conference attendances, and outbound lead generation. 
  • Customize innovative MineSense solutions for existing and prospective clients to meet identified Use Cases. Solutions will be built on MineSense’s ShovelSense and BeltSense offerings, with potential integration as a full Mine-to-Mill solution. This task will involve extensive site travel (Up to 50% of the time) to ensure solutions are adapted to client needs, enabling further solution discovery and convincing clients to adopt these solutions. 
  • Translate identified solutions into technical presentations and proposals for delivery to clients. Use your extensive experience of existing MineSensedeployments to adapt relevant Use Cases from other sites to new clients and quantify the Value these solutions will create at that site.   

  • Client Relationship Management and Internal Collaboration:
  • Guide internal teams through the presales and implementation process and ensure strong collaboration and communication between our Business Development, GeoScience, Field Services, Operations, and Engineering teams with the goal of delivering on our company commitments to prospective clients.  
  • Demonstrate and apply deep knowledge and understanding of the MineSense technology suite (ShovelSense, BeltSense, Mine-to-Mill) to identify trends in needs observed at client sites, as well as solutions that might not be in the MineSense technology suite, and work with internal teams to update the development roadmap accordingly. 
  • Identify trends in client questions and comments and work with MineSense teams to generate new resources, such as knowledge shares, to answer these common points and improve the efficiency and efficacy of MineSense marketing. 
  • Promote a positive company culture through sharing information and supporting the learning and development of all colleagues. 
  • Additional duties as occasionally required by your manager. 


Qualifications:
  • Degree in Earth Sciences (Geology, Geophysics), Mining Engineering, or related field. 
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience, where combined experience in sales, solutions consulting, and mining are preferred. 
  • Experience with in-pit grade control, working with ore control models or mine planning is ideal. 
  • Experience supporting customers and a history of successfully delivering projects. A previous role in consulting or technical sales will be highly regarded. 
  • Experience in developing and maintaining a sales pipeline. 
  • A track record of creative problem-solving and implementing solutions, involving diverse sensors, installations, and data sets, while relying on quantitative approaches to generate insights. 
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Python or other statistical packages is beneficial. 
  • Excel in presenting new solutions and convincing clients to buy into the value these solutions can bring.  
  • Oral and written fluency in English is required. Fluency in Spanish is required when based out of Santiago and desired when based out of Vancouver. 
  • The ability to travel and support clients globally is required (up to 50%).  
  • Legally able to work in Canada or Chile, depending on the chosen work location. 


$100,000 - $150,000 a year

The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to MineSense, market data based on their location as well as internal equity. Keeping this mind, the salary offered can be outside of the range posted.
