The Role:
The Manager, Casting & Talent Relations will serve as the primary point of contact for talent, overseeing both casting and talent management across various Moonbug Entertainment properties. Reporting to the Head of Production, this role requires close collaboration with talent, agents, and production teams, ensuring the creative vision and talent needs are met across diverse projects and formats, including live-action, animation, and digital content. The Manager will lead all casting efforts, screening and presenting the best talent options that align with Moonbug’s creative direction while also managing the talent coordination process.
The role also demands expertise in talent management, handling sensitive information with discretion, and fostering strong, long-term relationships with talent.

Responsibilities:
- Gather casting specifications from Development, Creative, and Production teams for all Moonbug properties.
- Lead casting calls, screen talent, and present stakeholders with top talent options based on project needs.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with talent agencies, managers, and industry professionals.
- Oversee talent schedules, tracking days worked, payments, and contract terms.
- Negotiate terms with talent and managers, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Ensure legal documentation, including contracts, is up-to-date, complete, and processed timely.
- Collaborate with Production to ensure talent payment parity, including per diem and travel expenses.
- Work with Legal and Studio teams to manage contracts, flagging key deadlines and milestones.
- Conduct talent background checks to ensure compliance with Moonbug policies and regulations.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for talent, offering support and escalating issues as needed.
- Maintain strong relationships with current talent, ensuring their needs are met before and after shoots.
- Oversee talent handling on set, ensuring compliance with child labor laws and safety regulations, especially for minors.
- Manage talent and senior leadership meetings, ensuring smooth coordination and follow-ups.
- Represent Moonbug at marketing events, meet-and-greets, and other talent engagements.
- Lead gifting and recognition initiatives for talent milestones, birthdays, and achievements.
- Proactively reach out to brands to negotiate sponsorships, collaborations, and endorsements for talent.
- Support talent across all stages of production, ensuring smooth operations and addressing concerns promptly.
- 5+ years of experience in talent management and casting, with non-union talent (union experience is a plus).
- Strong network and relationships with talent agencies, managers, and industry professionals.
- Experience in casting for digital-first, television, and/or streaming platforms, for both live-action and animation.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to remain calm under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Strong prioritization skills and the ability to handle a high volume of requests.
- Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and a creative problem-solver.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
