We are seeking a dynamic Operations Associate to join our team. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting our operational functions, finding efficiencies for our firm, and facilitating the growth of our organization. As an Operations Associate, you will work closely with our team to support business operations, manage internal and client projects streamline processes, facilitate data and site screening, implement automation, and effectively manage systems and data.
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
We specialize in developing renewable energy projects, such as community solar farms and battery storage systems, to help build a sustainable future for rural communities. We are a small team composed of 6 members who are working to do everything from sourcing land to developing, permitting, designing, and selling solar assets.
We develop commercial and industrial-scale solar photovoltaic and energy storage projects in New York State and throughout the Midwestern US. Our projects are typically between 3MW and 15MW, 20 to 60 acres in size, ground-mounted. Does not construct the solar systems that we develop. Instead, our business is to develop and derisk the projects from site control to interconnection, permitting, and title work and then hand them off to our financial partners.

- Site Plan and Environmental Reports
- Entitlement: AHJ Permitting, Wetlands & Endangered Species, Historic Preservation, etc.
- Asset sale process
- General Project Management
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive operational support by managing routine tasks, automating processes, and enhancing workflow efficiency.
- Conduct data mining activities to identify potential development sites for solar electric facilities. Utilize tools such as Google Earth and mapping software to analyze geographical data. Manage electric utility and real estate information to assess site suitability.
- NOTE: Applicants do not need prior experience in solar site analysis; we will teach you how to do this.
- Assist in document preparation, drafting, and note-taking during meetings. Utilize Monday.com project management Google software systems to maintain organizational records and manage tasks effectively.
- Collaborate with the team to integrate legacy data sets into the existing project management architecture. Conduct data cleaning and management tasks to ensure the accuracy and relevance of information.
- Schedule and coordinate virtual meetings, including sending calendar invites and preparing agendas.
- Demonstrate proficiency in web-based applications and project management suites. Excel in using tools like Google Earth, Microsoft Excel, Google spreadsheets, and database management systems.
- Contribute to the development of operational systems aimed at enhancing executive-level functionality. Work towards reducing friction in daily activities and facilitating faster decision-making processes.
Operational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in operational support roles, preferably in technology, energy, or real estate-related industries.
- Proficiency in project management software and CRM systems (e.g., Monday.com, Asana)
- NOTE: The candidate does not need experience with these specific project management and CRM systems. The key is that they have experience using and running PM software of some kind.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and manage databases effectively.
- A tech-savvy individual with a quick learning ability and familiarity with web-based applications.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Work experience with Excel &/or GoogleSheets
- Stay updated on emerging AI tools, identify opportunities to integrate them into operations, present them to the management team, and oversee their implementation.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work, able to take a process and make it their own.
Executive Support Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Executive Assistant, Administrative Assistant, or similar role.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a professional and proactive approach to work.
- Proficiency in calendar management, scheduling, and office software, specifically iOS, Google Workspace, and Microsoft.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion and integrity when dealing with confidential information.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.
