The Role:
Working under the guidance of the Senior Merchandiser, you will support in the planning, forecasting, and execution of stock management strategies, keeping key stakeholders informed of risks and opportunities. You will trade and analyse product performance across multiple sales channels including e-commerce, retail and wholesale, using numerical data and brand strategy to drive decision making regarding the assortment.
Key Responsibilities:
Stock Management:
- Manage stock levels across various product categories to meet customer demand and sales targets.
- Track product performance and report on stock movement, identifying slow-moving and high-performing items.
- Monitor product life cycles and collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams for smooth deliveries.
- Ensure that stock is available in line with demand, factoring in lead times, seasonal changes, and promotional events.
- Work closely with Wholesale partners to ensure demand is being fulfilled in line with sales plans.
Sales Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyse sales data to understand trends, sales patterns, and potential stock issues.
- Create and maintain regular reports, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Actively participate and contribute to weekly, monthly and quarterly trade meetings, highlighting key insights and actions to take to improve sales performance and profitability.
Range Planning:
- Support Senior Merchandiser in the development of range plans, ensuring alignment with buying and market trends.
- Aid in planning for seasonal demand and promotional periods, ensuring the correct inventory levels are maintained.
- Update and maintain category level WSSI, reforecasting monthly and highlighting risks and opportunities.
Retail Store Support:
- Oversee planning and execution of store allocations with MAA ensuring timely delivery of new collection launches and reducing out of stocks.
- Assist in the planning of new store assortments, identifying key product categories to drive performance taking into account location and customer profile.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the buying, wholesale, and operations teams to ensure alignment on inventory, sales plans and product performance.
- Participate in meetings with key stakeholders to discuss stock levels, sales trends, and strategies to improve product availability.
- Currently operating at Senior Assistant Merchandiser or Junior Merchandiser level.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with inventory management.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets.
- Strong Merchandising/planning skills including development of range plans, commitment management and production forecasting.
- Strong numerical, analytical and interpretive skills.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and able to build cross-functional relationships remotely and in person.
- Demonstrated ability to bring innovative solutions and best practice approaches to complex merchandising challenges.
