The Role:
We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our high growth business on a contract for services basis, to be part of the exciting journey that lies ahead. As part of the internal Finance team you will be contributing to the day-to-day financial operations and ensuring the timely completion of our month-end reporting. Working closely with and reporting to the Senior Finance Analyst, you will also be involved in improving our month end process and ad hoc analysis. To be successful in the role you will have to be a self starter with a keen eye for detail and a desire to continuously learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the month-end process by ensuring all relevant month end journals have been posted
- Lead on invoice generation and credit control for our B2B channels
- Reconciling customer and supplier statements
- Timely preparation of the month-end management accounts
- Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are prepared on a monthly basis, and that all balances are correct, and differences investigated
- Owning the completion of timely, accurate and insightful reporting for monthly P&L and balance sheet reviews
- Support in the review of VAT return before submission
- Support with the preparation of statutory financial statements, regulatory reporting and ad-hoc accounting queries
- Working alongside our outsourced providers to ensure compliance for our US Sales Taxes and EU VAT submissions
- Continuously work with the wider team to look for opportunities to improve the finance function at MORI
Personal Attributes:
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Minimum 2 years experience working within Accounts Payable / Receivable / Management Accounts
- Proficient and confident using spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Organised – to ensure deadlines are kept and expectations are managed
- Xero (or similar) Accounting Software experience would be beneficial but not essential
- Work experience in high-growth eCommerce startups would be a plus but not a requirement
- Able to work on own initiative and to be proactive
- Previous experience processing high-volumes of transactional finance data
