Starting Annual Pay: $70,200

Must be available to work at all sites and on weekends. 

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The RN Nurse Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to develop the medical assistant teams and leads at the clinic sites, focusing on workflows, compliance, training, and team development. This position will strongly collaborate with the practice managers, lead medical assistants, clinical teams, departments, and programs to achieve successful patient-centered medical home outcomes. This position will provide clinical oversight and functions for the lead medical assistant to develop medical assistant teams. In addition, this position will support Integrated Health Care Delivery and patient care in clinic- and community-based settings.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Responsible to Develop Medical Assistant Teams and Leads.
  2. Support and Initiate Quality Improvement Efforts.  
  3. Monitors and Supports Clinic Compliance.
  4. Conduct Surveillance and Assurance of Proper Vaccine Management.
  5. Provides nursing services to patients in accordance with the Arizona State Board of Nursing Registered Nurse scope of practice.
  6. Supports the organization as needed.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing is required.
  2. Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Arizona as RN is required.
  3. At least three (3) years nursing experience.
  4. One or more years of leadership or management experience, including process improvement and organizational change management.
  5. No current, pending, or prior disciplinary action on nursing license.
  6. Must be flexible in work hours, including Saturday hours.
  7. Must be flexible to work at any location as needed, e.g., clinics and outreach.

Standard Employment Requirements: 

  1. Must possess a valid and unrestricted Arizona driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if applicant is from out-of-state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years. Must maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license during employment. Must be insurable under NATIVE HEALTH’s liability auto policy.
  2. Must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the initial ninety (90) calendar days of employment and retain a valid card while employed with NATIVE HEALTH.
  3. Must pass substance abuse testing upon employment and submit to random testing during employment.
  4. Must provide an updated immunization (IZ) record at the time of employment.
  5. Must have a current (within 12 months) Tuberculosis (TB) skin report upon employment and provide an annual update.
  6. Must obtain BLS certified within (90) calendar days of employment and maintain certification during employment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Knowledge of the primary care clinic purpose and operations.
  2. Ability to prioritize duties, perform them efficiently and adjust to unexpected events.
  3. Knowledge of medical terminology.
  4. Safe medication administration knowledge and skills.
  5. Ability to help patients feel welcome.
  6. Ability to be punctual and dependable.
  7. Knowledge of infection control and bloodborne pathogen processes. 
  8. Ability to work efficiently and comfortably with other medical clinic employees. 
  9. Knowledge and use of supplies and medical equipment. 
  10. Skills in the use of medical instruments and supplies. 
  11. Willingness to learn new tasks consistent with MA training.
  12. Culturally competent; able to work with a diverse workforce and client population. 
  13. Evidence of current medication administration knowledge and skills.
  14. Comprehension of HIPAA regulations, compliance and violation reporting.
  15. Healthcare information entry and retrieval from the electronic health record skills.
