Job Description

The Universal Pictures Film Technology Department is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our team as we envision the future of entertainment media. In this role you will be hands on with emerging technologies in film marketing and production including blockchain and AR/VR by taking ownership of the project management of multiple initiatives.  You will work in close collaboration with technologists, product managers, creative producers, and studio executives to communicate and execute on agreed deliverables aimed to excite the next generation of consumers.  This person will also manage the business relationships our team has with various technology and creative partners.  A successful candidate will possess solid fundamentals in project management of technology products, have an understanding of Agile software development principles, be familiar with working in a media company and have strong organizational, communication, and administration skills.  

Responsibilities  

  • Responsible for the project management and task execution tracking for multiple ongoing Innovation projects
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings with engineering, internal stakeholders and external vendors  
  • Maintain and update key project information for the department portfolio 
  • Setup and deliver new tech product and content demos for both an internal-facing audience to introduce new industry tech trends to the FilmTech group and broader audiences across the larger NBCU organization  Provide regular updates to project stakeholders 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in immersive media technology or related field
  • Baseline/novice understanding of, and comfort with Microsoft Programs (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint) with an emphasis on comfort with Excel as it plays a significant role in job duties
  • Professional experience working in emerging media technology production 
  • Experience with agile software development processes and project management 
  • Experience in creating and maintaining project plans at both the individual project level and at a department portfolio level. 
  • Expertise in using project planning tools such as Smartsheets, JIRA, Excel, and Google for Business 
  • Experience in scheduling and facilitating meetings using Microsoft Outlook 
  • Familiarity with different large storage systems such as Sharepoint, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Frame.io 
  • Basic technical knowledge of uploading files from a local computer and organizing digital files in both Windows and Mac OS 
  • Experience with and efficient in creating presentations and pitch decks (MS PowerPoint or Keynote) 
  • Ability to demo and present ideas and project updates to large groups and senior executives

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 (bonus eligible)
