About the Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team as a QA Documentation Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting comprehensive functional documentation, including test cases, test strategies, and other key quality assurance documents. You will work closely with the QA team and Product Managers to ensure all scenarios are thoroughly tested and aligned with business requirements. This position is crucial in helping our team deliver high-quality software products, ensuring our application meets the defined standards and customer expectations.

Duties and responsibilities

• Create and maintain test documentation: Develop, update, and manage detailed test cases, test strategies, and plans based on functional and non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate with QA team members: Work closely with QA engineers, developers, and other team members to identify test scenarios, understand the scope, and ensure proper coverage of requirements.
• Understand business rules: Work with product managers to fully understand application business rules and translate them into functional test cases.
• Ensure thorough testing: Design test scenarios that account for positive and negative cases, edge cases, and performance conditions, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
• Participate in test execution: Assist in running and managing manual test cases when necessary, ensuring that documented cases meet real-world execution requirements.
• Improve processes: Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance documentation and testing efficiency

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance or related roles, with a strong focus on writing test documentation (test cases, test strategies).
• Technical skills:
• Familiarity with QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
• Basic knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile frameworks.
• Soft skills:
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Ability to easily understand and translate complex business rules into clear, actionable documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset, able to work closely with cross-functional teams.
• Problem-solving: Proven ability to think critically and troubleshoot issues independently.

Working conditions

This role is a full-time salaried position. Work hours for this position are flexible and will be performed from a home office.
