Role Overview
The Program Planning & Schedule Manager (PSM) is responsible for the development, coordination, and statusing of the integrated master schedules for new and existing programs. Additionally, the PSM will coordinate directly with the program teams to coordinate task planning and technical project planning in support of the integrated master schedule. The PSM will deliver the highest quality products on schedule and within budget. They will work closely alongside the PMO’s technical program managers (TPMs) to drive the integration & development of complex Air Vehicle hardware & software and monitor overall program progress.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and communicate the schedule activities to all stakeholders
- Manage all scheduling efforts and schedule baselines
- Collaborate with TPMs to provide hands on support, guidance, recovery/alternate scenario modeling, and creative solutions as needed to support program milestones
- Manage multiple program priorities against ambitious timelines and provide program team with guidance
- Support the PMO in establishing scheduling processes and procedures for each program, up to and including establishing Earned Value best practices and schedule change management
- Coordinate with TPMs to generate and maintain inputs to the integrated master schedule to assist in generation of program metrics, including integration of supplier and partner plans and schedules
- Support team goals setting, tracking of deliverable, and identification of risk and mitigations across all stages of the program, which includes establishing tactical execution best practices and tools, such as sprint planning and other similar methodologies
- Support identification of resource requirements and highlight gaps across various stages for all projects
- Accountable for schedule and compliance, assessment of schedule risk, identification of opportunities (including schedule margin planning), and providing robust and actionable performance reporting from the IMS to support and drive program management understanding and action
- Manage roadmap of projects working within the framework of the overall program
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or other related field
- A minimum of five (5) years in technical program/project management role, preferably in the aviation industry (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered for this role)
- Previous engineering or manufacturing experience with a deep understanding of product development & qualification
- Project management experience in complex hardware/software and aircraft development & qualification is preferred
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management and Configuration Management
- Experience with MS Project, Doors, Jira and/or other project management tools
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing standard processes
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Ability to work cross‐functionally, build relationships, and manage conflict
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
- Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
- Demonstrated agility and autonomous decision-making within ambiguous situations
- Experience with Dassault 3DX is preferred
