As a Clinical Specialist, you will play an integral part in growing Penumbra's Neuro & Peripheral Vascular Solutions in Malaysia by providing providing specialized clinical support on Penumbra solutions across both peripheral and neuro vascular cases. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of mechanical thrombectomy procedures, providing expertise and guidance to healthcare professionals involved in these cases.
What You’ll Work On
• Provide on-site support and guidance during mechanical thrombectomy procedures, collaborating closely with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Conduct training sessions and educational programs for healthcare professionals on the principles and best practices of mechanical thrombectomy, including device operation, patient selection, and procedural techniques.
• Work closely with hospital staff to optimize procedural workflows and protocols related to mechanical thrombectomy, aiming to enhance efficiency and patient safety.
• Serve as a technical expert on mechanical thrombectomy devices and equipment, providing troubleshooting assistance and facilitating equipment maintenance and upgrades as needed.
• Keep current on Penumbra new products or services being offered and give feedback to the corporate office on market receptivity, concerns or issues learned from the customers.
• Maintain an ongoing knowledge of competitive product innovations, sales promotions, catalogs and advertising for personal sales effectiveness and corporate market intelligence.
• Collect and analyze procedural data, outcomes, and patient metrics related to mechanical thrombectomy cases, preparing reports and recommendations for quality improvement initiatives.
• Foster strong collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, including interventional radiologists, neurologists, vascular surgeons, nurses, and technicians, to ensure seamless coordination and communication during cases.
• Maintain accurate records of sales expenses, customer files and field sales reports required, communicating required information as needed.
What You Contribute
• A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Nursing, Allied Health, or related field with 5+ yrs of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth knowledge of neuro and vascular anatomy, stroke/DVT/PE/ALI/AVF pathology, and thrombectomy devices will be an advantage.
• Experience as a e.g., Registered Nurse, Radiologic Technologist, etc. in the relevant clinical specialty is desired.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate and collaborate with diverse healthcare teams.
• Proven ability to work independently.
Working Conditions
General office environment, laboratory, and cleanroom environments. Willingness and ability to work on site. Will be required to have business travel up to 50%. Out of office hours and weekend standby on call will be required. Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds/15 kilos. Must be able to move between buildings and floors. Must be able to remain stationary and use a computer or other standard office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine, for an extensive period of time each day. Must be able to read, prepare emails, and produce documents and spreadsheets. Must be able to move within an office environment and access file cabinets or supplies, as needed. Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.
