Printfresh is seeking an Associate Buyer to help shape a strategic product assortment that aligns with our brand vision and growth goals. This role will be responsible for collaboratively selecting apparel and sleepwear across our omni-channel platforms, analyzing sales data, managing inventory levels, and partnering with our design team to bring the right products to market.
The Associate Buyer will work cross-functionally with the Merchandising, Planning, Design, Product Development, Sales, and E-commerce teams to ensure our product selection meets customer expectations and drives continued growth.
This role is full-time and performed in person, working in our Philadelphia office Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
Buying & Merchandising Strategy
- Support the buying process, including proposing unit buys, determining size allocation, and placing orders.
- Partner with Finance & VP of Merchandising to achieve financial goals using both bottom-up and top-down approaches.
- Develop pre-market merchandise strategies informed by competitive research, sales analysis, and financial objectives.
- Identify emerging selling trends and manage replenishment strategies to optimize stock levels and sales performance.
- Maintain core assortment, making recommendations to refine or expand product offerings.
- Assists with web merchandising.
Sales Analysis & Business Optimization
- Conduct daily and weekly business analysis to track sales and inventory, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Own the buy roll, working with VP and Planning to adjust strategies that maximize sales and margins.
- Analyze and create reports on Best Sellers, Assortment Recaps, New Product Performance, and Buy Reviews to guide decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with the wholesale teams to align product selection with national and specialty store partners, ensuring assortments meet their needs and drive growth.
- Partner with Design, Product Development, and Production teams to ensure seamless product execution and alignment on delivery timelines.
- Facilitate buy reviews and maintain strong collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Design, and Planning to ensure consistency across all channels.
- Work closely with the E-commerce Merchandise Manager to align Shopify product listings with collections, homepages, and key digital merchandising elements.
- Attend marketing meetings and provide product recommendations to optimize storytelling and conversion.
Operations & Process Management
- Organize and lead seasonal sample turnover meetings, highlighting key product updates and addressing gaps with the Creative Director and Photo Team.
- Utilize change memos to track and communicate updates, delivery shifts, and adjustments across teams.
- Assist in creating ad hoc decks and presentations for key business reviews, seasonal planning, and assortment recaps.
- 4+ years of buying experience with a retailer, home and or fashion experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage sales data to inform buying decisions.
- Proficiency in retail math and understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margin, and inventory turn.
- Experience with merchandising web pages on Shopify and a strong understanding of e-commerce merchandising best practices.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, Charts) preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong trend awareness and ability to identify products that resonate with the customer.
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail and follow-through.
