Join our team as a CNC Operator I on our FLEX shift!

This position is ONSITE based in Brooklyn Park. 

Shift: Friday-Sunday; 6pm-6am

• Perform basic CNC machining tasks: milling, finishing, material handling.
• Operate CNC machine and equipment of limited complexity.
• Read production paperwork and follow production instructions and processes.
• Transport parts of fixtures.
• Retrieve and store materials from storage.
• Prepare material blocks for CNC milling and finishing operations.
• Clean and maintain milling machine centers – emptying chip bins, clean out chip debris, replenish coolant, maintain accurate lubricant.
• Support CNC operations with cleaning, filling, emptying, wiping, mopping.
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
• Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
• Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
• Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Limited to no knowledge of CNC functional areas
• Ability to learn one or more machining tasks:  milling, finishing, material handling
• Ability to help out and be productive where needed
• Ability to work safely with cleaning and other resources
• Positive and helpful attitude
• Ability to use chemicals in accordance with safety standards
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as scales and calipers
• Ability to use a computer and calculator
• Able to work safely with sharp tools/objects, such as but not limited to, hobby knives, utility knives, diagonal-cutting pliers
• Able to read and write in English, and do basic arithmetic
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
• Able to be punctual and have good attendance
• Good written and oral communication skill

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
