Who we are looking for

We are seeking a dedicated Market Leader Aerospace and Defense to drive business development and market growth initiatives! This ambitious role requires a strategic problem solver with a keen understanding of the manufacturing and engineering landscape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for finding opportunities, building relationships, and rapidly growing our presence in focus markets. This leader will be a vital member of our commercial leadership team, developing and performing a comprehensive market-focused growth strategy that aligns with our 5-year objectives. Proven experience in B2B, B2C, and dynamic, high-growth environment and have experience in regulated hard tech or SaaS models.

Responsibilities

  • Build and implement comprehensive market strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and improve competitive positioning.
  • Business Development: Lead full-cycle business development efforts, from identifying prospects to closing deals, ensuring a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain positive connections with key collaborators, including clients, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Market Research: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to develop targeted sales strategies and materials.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment and execution of market initiatives.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and track critical metrics to measure the efficiency of business development activities.
  • Market Expansion: Identify and evaluate new market segments, product opportunities, and potential partnerships.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent the company at industry events and conferences to improve visibility and establish the company as a market leader.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a coordinated market strategy that supports our growth objectives.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in marketing, business development, sales, or strategy roles within the aerospace and defense sectors.
  • Consistent record of developing successful strategies that drive growth.
  • Strong understanding of coordinated demand generation tools and techniques.
  • Leadership Skills: Shown ability to lead and encourage teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical Approach: Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, making decisions based on data.
  • Negotiation Skills: Outstanding negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of successfully securing high-value contracts.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge in the applicable market landscape, including market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed.
