Position Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us build next-generation social networking platforms. You’ll serve as the backbone of our newly formed core product team and ensure that we’re building backend solutions that are extensible, modular, and efficient. Core Responsibilities
Design and implement the core backend services and APIs that will power our real-time communication platform
Develop and optimize database schemas and data access patterns
Build secure authentication and authorization systems
Create scalable message handling and notification infrastructure
Set up monitoring, logging, and observability systems
Write clear technical documentation and API specifications
Mentor junior developers as the team grows
Required Experience
5+ years of backend development with distributed communication systems
Strong experience building and maintaining production REST/GraphQL APIs
Deep understanding of database design and optimization
Experience with real-time communication systems (WebSocket/WebRTC)
Track record of writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Technical Skills
Proficient in Node.js, Python, and either Go or Rust
Strong knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
Experience with Redis or similar caching solutions
Familiar with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
Experience with containerization and microservices

Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly
