Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Audit (Lead Coder Specialist) - Remote.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor coding compliance through audits of ICD and CPT codes assigned by coding staff
  • Perform focused audits on high-risk areas identified by regulatory agencies
  • Provide education and training for coders and healthcare professionals based on audit findings
Required Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in health information management or equivalent education with 10+ years of coding experience in acute care
  • Certification as RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or CCS is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in outpatient coding and proficiency in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding
  • 3+ years of coding audit experience with a focus on coding accuracy and revenue cycle
  • Strong knowledge of DRG and APC payment methodologies, AHA Coding Clinic, and CPT Assistant is preferred
