Job Description We are looking for an Extrusion Technician to maintain and operate extrusion equipment, ensuring product quality and optimal workflow. This position will be Full-Time and Onsite. This role is 1st shift, 5am – 3:30pm, Monday – Thursday (OT as needed on Friday and Saturday). What You’ll Do Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the extrusion lines and equipment supported Exemplify TE core values of Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, and Innovation in daily work Communicate needs for tools and materials to meet production demands and optimize workflow Participate in daily production meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts Support junior technicians in the Extrusion area Participate in Lean manufacturing processes, changes, and training. Read and interpret job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements Set up, operate, and troubleshoot extrusion equipment according to approved parameters for the item(s) to be manufactured Adjust tooling and processing parameters to ensure the product meets the specifications Inspect products for quality using approved methods, equipment, and visual inspections Collect and package products in accordance with work orders and approved standards Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions and resolve issues promptly Measure work-piece dimensions using dies, gauges, and vision systems to determine accuracy Perform minor machine maintenance tasks such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces Complete and submit all required paperwork or electronic data entry, maintaining accurate records Purge, shut down, and clean all equipment as per approved methods for the next work order Provide training support on new operations and equipment, ensuring records are maintained Work with supervisors and management to resolve any issues or complaints Enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean working environment What You’ll Need Required: High School Diploma and/or GED 2-5 years of experience operating extrusion machinery or in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as metric conversions, draw-down ratios, etc. Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Preferred: Direct experience with extrusion equipment preferred. Physical Demands Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards. Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person.
