Client: State of Louisiana
Location: Remote
Duration: Long-term Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze and document data conversion requirements, approach, and strategy.
• Map legacy data files and elements to new system tables/columns, including translation and foreign key rules.
• Independently develop program modules using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) based on provided designs/storyboards.
• Create and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and analysis.
• Execute and monitor team members’ SSIS programs; troubleshoot and resolve runtime issues.
• Resolve SSIS program errors and performance issues without assistance.
• Analyze and troubleshoot data integrity issues and discrepancies.
• Review and test new code and conversion program modules for accuracy.
• Test data conversion results within the system.
• Participate in team meetings and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, documentation, mentorship, and guidance to State personnel.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in application development with a focus on:
• SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and ETL tools
• Complex SQL query development
• SQL Server environments
• Creating and maintaining SQL Server Agents (SSA)
• Working in relational database environments
• 2+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with GitHub version control, including complex branching strategies
• Previous work on data conversion projects and processes
• Experience identifying and addressing data quality issues
• Experience with large-scale public sector IT projects
• Experience using JIRA
• Experience with mainframe systems and Lotus Notes applications
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to clearly articulate complex concepts
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
