Job Description

In this high visibility role as the Accounting Manager, you will lead critical accounting functions and guide the success of your team and the company. You will oversee core accounting functions, guide a high-performing team, and help standardize financial processes in compliance with GAAP, company policy, and group goals. You will achieve excellence in accurate and timely financial reporting, ensure compliant processes, manage risk, and provide strategic analysis to support executive decision making in a collaborative way that assures internal and external customer satisfaction.

To be successful in this role, you should have superior levels of integrity, honesty, outstanding people skills and be a driven problem-solver with a positive attitude. In this role you will report directly to the President & CEO.

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Lead accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
    • Manage general ledger and month-end close.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Team Management:
    • Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff.
    • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, treasury, credit, and collections.
    • Delegate responsibilities and support team development.
  • Accounting Policies and Procedures:
    • Develop and enforce accounting policies and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain accurate records and lead ERP automation efforts to support functional team needs.
    • Manage insurance records and negotiate appropriate coverage.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy:
    • Support financial planning and provide insights into strategic decision-making.
    • Prepare cash flow projections, manage bank transfers, and advise on liquidity improvements.
  • Internal Controls:
    • Uphold financial data integrity and monitor internal controls.
    • Deliver timely analysis of budgets, reports, and trends to executive leadership.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Ensure tax compliance and oversee preparation of returns.
    • Coordinate audits and support regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Additional related duties as may be assigned as needed

Qualifications

Experience You Have:

  • 5+ years leading multi-disciplinary accounting functions and invoicing
  • 2+ years of recent hands-on NetSuite experience
  • Expertise in direct/indirect cost accounting and amortization schedules
  • Strong knowledge of percentage-of-completion and construction accounting
  • Familiar with AIA documents, lien waivers, and service-based business environments
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel and Pivot Tables preferred
  • High attention to detail with speed and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and solve complex problems
  • Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information discreetly
  • Experience in processing automation and leveraging IT in accounting
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills

Education/Training You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Accounting, Finance, etc.) with relevant experience.
  • Any other related industry certification(s) preferred
