Performance Analytics Engineer

Are you a detail-oriented engineer with a passion for uncovering insights through quantitative analysis? Do you excel at solving complex financial challenges and driving data-driven decision-making? We are seeking a seasoned Performance Analytics Engineer with extensive knowledge of performance measurement and financial analytics to join our innovative team. In this role, you’ll leverage your domain expertise to design and enhance high impact systems for performance measurement, address complex data challenges, and craft solutions that empower informed decision-making. Your ability to navigate industry standards, such as GIPS, will be critical in building systems that meet the highest benchmarks of accuracy and speed. By joining our dynamic FinTech startup, you’ll contribute to redefining investment management technology while fostering a collaborative and engaging work environment.

What will you do?

  • Contribute to architectures within the Performance Reporting and Analytics domain
  • Propose technical design opinions and fuel decision-making to fast paced, growing team 
  • Partner closely with design, strategy, and engineering teammates and work in a collaborative environment deeply rooted in learning, teaching, and transparency
  • Engage in the entire development process, from requirements and design reviews through implementation and testing
  • Impact a developing tech stack based on AWS back-end services
  • Create automation that leads to scalable, high-quality applications customers will depend on to run their businesses
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire fellow engineers to deliver high performing, secure enterprise applications
  • Think creatively, tackle complex problems, seek innovative solutions, and communicate clearly along the way
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment rooted in learning, teaching, and transparency

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years in a software engineering position with a history of architecting and designing performance reporting and analytics 
  • CIPM or similar performance measurement related certification
  • Proven experience in performance analytics concepts and methodologies: TWR, Brinson Attribution, GIPS, Profit and Loss
  • Strong proficiency in working with Relational or Analytical databases, with the capability to optimize queries
  • Experience building cloud native applications on AWS/Azure/Google Cloud
  • A degree in Finance (relevant to performance measurement), Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline
  • Willingness to learn about new and develop expertise in varying technologies
  • Understand the value of automated testing at all levels 
  • Ability to focus on short-term deliverables while maintaining a big-picture long term perspective
  • An aptitude for complex problem-solving
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • Serious interest in having fun at work

Bonus:

  • Buy-side technology experienceExperience with GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT
  • Experience with Kotlin and/or other JVM Languages
  • Familiar with industry software & data sets: Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv, ICE

Compensation and Benefits 

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

The typical starting salary range for this role is: $200,000 - $232,500.
The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is: $205,000 - $242,000

Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.
