DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION

Risant Health’s Value-based Platform (VBP) Product Management discipline, headed by the VBP Product Discipline Lead, guides the VBP solution portfolio strategy in partnership with the Risant Health Business and Clinical leadership.

This position provides value by ensuring that Risant Health solutions (including the collected set of products and services) achieve the following objectives:

  • Address VBP customer, clinician, and consumer needs through the delivery of platform value solutions.
  •  Achieve business goals and outcomes set by Risant Health, including the VBP ‘North Star Metrics’ and outcomes.
  • Provide Risant Health with an advantage in the wider US health market by delivering best-in-class value-based care.

POSITION SUMMARY

The VBP Product Manager will support the development and execution of product strategies to drive business growth and meet a series of end-user needs by working in tight collaboration with the appropriate clinical discipline team to ensure alignment with clinical requirements and best-practices, right care models, and value-based care outcomes. The Product Manager will collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams, including clinical, product, value realization, tech and engineering, program management, and data insights and analytics to define product requirements, prioritize features, and deliver the VBP solution to launch, assessing impact and continuing to build, enhance and innovate products based on key data insights.

Under the guide of the Senior Product Manager and Discipline leadership, this position will focus on the end to end experience for a VBP solution set with no more than two products, ensuring its development aligns with market needs and delivers value-based care outcomes. The Product Manager will oversee the full product lifecycle, from concept through market launch and ongoing value realization, while ensuring alignment with the VBP’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include supporting senior product managers and the Value-based Platform Discipline Lead in executing product strategy, participating in product meetings by

offering insights based on research and analysis, but the position does not have final decision-making authority.

The VBP Product Manager will report directly to the VBP Product Discipline Lead.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities and tasks of the VBP Product Manager include but are not limited to:

Product Strategy Development:

Define Product Vision: Supports the vision for the VBP solution that aligns with the strategic goals of the Product Discipline Lead and broader Value-based Platform strategy. Has a basic ability to know when to pivot and assess value.

Set Objectives: Establishes short and long-term goals for the VBP solution or set of solutions owned, ensuring they are measurable and mapped to larger VBP strategic initiatives and goals over time.

Strategic Planning: Maintains a product strategy that outlines how the product will achieve its vision and associated missions against the broader value case under the direction of the Value-based Platform Product Discipline lead and Senior Product Manager.

Research: Participates in market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to identify healthcare market needs and trends for the product.

Roadmap Development:

Product Roadmap: Updates a product roadmap that outlines the key features, milestones, and timelines for the VBP solution or solution sets they are responsible for. Ensures it reflects the product strategy and adapts to changes in market conditions, business priorities, and upcoming regulatory changes.

Prioritization: Prioritizes features, epics and initiatives based on factors such as patient and provider needs, business value, regulatory requirements, technical feasibility, and market accelerators. Basic understanding of prioritization frameworks, which can apply to the VBP and articulate the reason for shifting away in certain situations.

Requirements Gathering

Collect Requirements: Gathers and documents business requirements, user needs, and legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements through various methods, including user interviews, surveys, market research teams, and consultation with legal and compliance to bring to product teams to incorporate into various tools and tasks for greater definition, clarity and confirmation.

Support Specification Creation and Refinement: Reviews and supports teams developing detailed functional and technical specifications as applicable to guide development teams building the product. Provides insight and guidance and adjusts specifications according to expected product functionality.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Engage Stakeholders: Maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to executives, clinicians, enablement, support teams and partners.

Executive Presence: Communicates product plans, progress, and milestones effectively to stakeholders and solicit feedback and input as needed. This includes but is not limited to approvals, escalations, production sign off and defect management.

Provider and Patient Advocacy: Acts as the supporting advocate for provider and patient needs, gathering feedback and insights to inform product decisions and enhance user experience.

Partnership Development: Maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders within and outside of VBP, including external partners and vendors, to leverage resources and expertise that support product success.

Risk Management

Identify and Mitigate Risks/ Issues: Identifies potential risks and challenges related to product development, meeting delivery dates, scope creep, market adoption, and competition. Understands and provides examples of ways and approaches to mitigate risk including the implementation of strategies to deal with the mitigation.

Spike Management: Understands how and when to pull the right number and type of resources into the delivery workflow to level load demand and mitigate risk, while not derailing other strategic priorities.

Product Development and Execution

Oversee Development: Manages the development process for VBP solutions, ensuring that features are built according to (clinical, business, and regulatory) specifications, on time, and within budget.

Iterative Feedback: Supports agile methodologies to facilitate iterative development, testing, and feedback loops, making adjustments as necessary based on insights and feedback.

Listen and Lead: Joins and actively listens in retrospectives and finds ways to channel concerns into actionable items by role or team.

Leadership of Inter-disciplinary Teams

Team Empowerment: Inspires and empowers team members from various functions to take ownership of their roles, fostering a sense of accountability and collaboration towards shared product goals.

Performance Alignment: Ensures that all team members understand their contributions to the product vision, aligning individual and team objectives with overall business goals.

Inter-disciplinary Collaboration: Collaborates with VBP inter-disciplinary teams, including engineering, data, architecture, copy, legal, testing, design, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure alignment and execution path of product initiatives, features and plan to prepare for approvals. Facilitates communication and collaboration across teams to drive product development and delivery.

Performance Monitoring and Improvement:

Product Performance: Monitors key healthcare performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the performance and success of the product features in the market. Works closely with data and analytics teams to analyze data, customer insights, and market trends to identify opportunities for product optimization and improvement. Reviews reports, has a strong partnership with reporting and insights teams to track week over week (WoW), month over month (MoM), and year over year (YoY) impact. Possesses the basic ability to articulate informed decisions based on monitoring.

Continuous Improvement: Supports initiatives to assess and improve product performance, ensuring that lessons learned are integrated into future product development sprints.

Qualifications

​​Minimum Qualifications: 

​Experience​:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in product management or related roles

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR four (4) years directly related experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems Management, Data Analytics, Engineering, Social Science, or related field  
  • Certifications in product management or Agile methodologies  
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) 
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)  
  • Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) 

Preferred Qualifications:​ 

  • Experience forming, creating and management of a product roadmap. 
  • Basic Experience forming teams (agreements, KPI creation, capabilities, crafts, goals and ways of working). 
  • Experience drafting visions, OKR’s, KPI’s and building prioritization frameworks. 
  • Experience delivering product in roles as a Product Analyst and/or Product Owner. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable product plans. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills (verbal and written). 
  • Strong executive presence and comfortable storytelling product value and reason for priority or decisions made. 
  • Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies and product management and delivery best practices. 
  • Experience working with inter-disciplinary teams and managing stakeholder relationships. 
  • Proficiency in project management tools, product management software, and collaboration platforms (Jira, Figma, Mural, Miro, Confluence). 
  • Passion for innovation and delivering exceptional customer experiences. 
  • Demonstrates and describes a track record of successfully launching and managing products. 
  • Experience working in healthcare, in multipayer, multiprovider ecosystems 

Additional Information

Compensation and Benefits: The projected base salary for this position ranges from $127,500 - $168,300, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including wellness programs, retirement savings, and relocation support as applicable.
