Product Designer

We are looking for a Product Designer

Target total compensation ranges from $93,000 - $146,000 CAD, including a fixed annual salary of $83,000 - $130,000 CAD, an employee equity plan grant, and world-class benefits.

Equity grants are issued in good faith, subject to company policies, board approval, and individual eligibility.

We are looking for a product designer who will help us shape the future of AfterSell. As a designer, you'll be responsible for designing from ideation to handoff, building our design system, and conducting research to inform key product decisions.

We have no end to the unique challenges we face as an app that interfaces with both merchants and customers. We are looking for designers who will own the outcome of their work, crafting great experiences that drive value for the people we ultimately serve: our customers.

Along the way, design works closely with our team of engineers and product managers to shape our design and product strategies. As a team we are adaptable and work fast.

About the role:

You'll be responsible for creating designs from start to finish, from ideation, research and design to handoff

You’ll be primarily working on our Shopify apps: AfterSell and UpCart

You’ll build our design process and assets intentionally as we grow

You’ll be responsible for leading and conducting merchant interviews and product research to gather insights that inform product decisions.

You will collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to shape our design strategy and inform our product strategy

About you:

• 3-5 years of experience in product design, preferably with experience in Figma

• You prioritize business needs and excel at your craft, balancing speed and business goals 

Adaptable & Product Focused

• You enjoy taking on ambiguous problems and unraveling them to find simple, clear solutions
• You start with the customer and push for the strongest user experiences to solve their problems
• You are curious and hungry to learn. You iterate on your designs, looking at both quantitative data and qualitative studies to find areas of improvement in existing designs

Confidence in Execution

• You have a keen eye for detail with a strong design intuition and an acute taste for good design
• You articulate your design choices clearly to create alignment

Collaborative & Humble

• You ask for feedback early and often
• You are a clear communicator and can justify design decisions with great storytelling, evidence and intuition
• You value cross-functional collaboration(eg. product managers, engineers, customer success) to drive alignment and refine your decisions
