Assistant Varsity Sailing Coach

Rye Country Day School is seeking an Assistant Varsity Sailing Coach beginning February 24, 2025. Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, Prek-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. Specific responsibilities of the position include:

• Ability to teach the basic fundamentals and strategies of sailing
• Creating an exciting, challenging environment each day
• Collaborating with the head coach in planning and communication
• Maintaining a safe environment at all times
• Communicating with sailors, coaches, opponents in a professional manner
• Ability to drive a powerboat
• Availability to attend weekend regattas
• Checking email daily

 Desired qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-years successful coaching experience with adolescents in this age group
• A passion for athletic competition and the ability to motivate and inspire athletes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive school community
• Energetic and enthusiastic, flexible and patient

Salary range: $2,500 - $6,000 depending on level of play and coaching experience
