About the Role

Now hiring for a position to assist our program operations team! We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Program Coordinator to implement and enrich the 'Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds, Healthy Futures' components of our youth and community programs. If you have a passion for youth development and love soccer and holistic health, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

In this role, you will be at the forefront of engaging young participants in physical activities, preparing them for life after high school, promoting healthy lifestyles, and fostering a love for 'the beautiful game.' Get ready to inspire and motivate youth ages 4-18 while honing your skills in program management and development. This is a full-time Americorps position. Choose from the following programmatic areas of focus:

Healthy Bodies

As the 'Healthy Bodies' Program Coordinator, you'll execute and enhance programs that not only keep kids active but also educate them about nutrition and healthy choices. Help expand opportunities for healthy soccer competition (leagues, tournaments, etc.) or organize cooking classes. Bring your creativity! You will have the opportunity to shape how folks in the community connect with their health and with 'the beautiful game.' You will collaborate with your fellow team members to ensure that each young person leaves with a smile on their face and valuable skills that last a lifetime!

Healthy Minds

As the 'Healthy Minds' Program Coordinator, you'll help add value to our social-emotional learning practices. You will build on mental health resources for our families, help deliver a relationships curriculum, or implement daily rituals that help our young folks learn self-regulation. Help young people build the skills they need to thrive in school,work, and life!

Healthy Futures

As the 'Healthy Futures' Program Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the lives of young individuals aged 4 to 18. Young people will need a unique set of skills to thrive beyond high school in the 21st century. Plan college trips, organize industry exposure workshops. Help young people explore their interests and connect them with apprenticeships and other opportunities. Be innovative with your approach! You will drive the implementation, coordination, and delivery of programs that promote college and career readiness, access to vital resources, and future-focused skills development. Get ready to inspire youth to achieve their dreams through meaningful mentorship!

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate engaging activities that integrate healthy lifestyles, social-emotional learning, and/or future-readiness skills and career exposure.
  • Recruit and market programming to new audiences
  • Coach and mentor young people
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages youth to participate actively and confidently.
  • Collaborate with a passionate team of youth development professionals and coaches to deepen program impact and participant experience.
  • Expand and enrich the existing calendar of engagements across program portfolios to empower participants through experiential learning.
  • Help manage daily operations and ensure a consistent, high-quality participant experience (setup, attendance, equipment, etc.)

You will have the chance to make a difference through your creativity, leadership, and organizational skills, all while gaining invaluable experience in nonprofit program management!

What You Bring

**Required**:

  • Strong commitment to our mission and a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles among youth.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect effectively with diverse groups.
  • Go-getter, proactive attitude! The ability to take initiative and find ways to add value.
  • Organizational and planning skills that keep everything running smoothly.
  • A collaborative spirit! We're a team, and we thrive on working together!
  • Must pass all necessary background checks and screenings.
  • Access to reliable transportation to navigate local program sites.

**Preferred**:

  • Experience working with young people
  • Knowledge/Experience with innovative post-secondary prep
  • Experience in a wellness setting is a big plus!
  • Enthusiasm for coaching and engaging with youth in athletics.
  • Spanish Language fluency.

This is an Americorps position

  • Living allowance
  • Loan deferment and interest forbearance
  • Flexible work schedule and telecommuting options. (*Program schedule is fixed, but additional administrative hours may be flexible.)
  • Professional development and career-readiness preparation in addition to extensive sports-based youth development training. Access to a large alumni network.
  • Education award towards student loans or future tuition upon completion of required 900 (half-time) or 1700 (full time) hours of service. This position is a full-time or half-time Americorps commitment for a 1-year term of service.
