Come join a company who is a key leader in the industry scaling the next core commerce infrastructure and on the path from $100M to $500M! Founded in 2012, Salsify helps brand manufacturers, distributors, and retailers in over 80 countries collaborate to win on the digital shelf. As the market leader globally, our products are shopper-centric, frictionless, and create memorable commerce experiences. Our products provide a competitive edge through experiences that improve brand trust, amplify product differentiation and assortments, increase conversion rate, improve profit margins, and speed time to market.

Learn how the world’s largest brands, including Mars, L'Oreal, Coca-Cola, Bosch, and GSK, as well as retailers and distributors such as E.Leclerc, Carrefour, Metro, and Intermarché use Salsify everyday to stand out on the digital shelf.

At Salsify, we strive to embody an equitable, diverse, and inclusive company culture. We are united across countries, levels, tenures, and a host of other dimensions of diversity. We understand that while work is just one aspect of who we are, a truly inclusive culture accounts for the full authenticity of every single human being that works here.

About the Opportunity

Salsify’s Market Strategy team drives long-term growth through actionable, evidence-based strategic recommendations. We are seeking an ambitious Associate Market Strategy Analyst to help shape the company’s future strategy through market analysis, financial modeling, and data-driven insights. This role requires a blend of traditional consulting skills, analytical capabilities, and ingenuity — an ideal opportunity for critical thinkers passionate about using data to make a tangible impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Market Analysis: Structure and conduct market research using both quantitative and qualitative sources to extract trends, disruptions, and emerging opportunities.
  • Data Analysis & Insights: Leverage SQL and other tools to aggregate, clean, and analyze datasets, deriving business insights to support strategic recommendations.
  • Financial & Strategic Modeling: Build dynamic models to assess and compare growth opportunities (e.g., size total addressable markets, forecast potential revenue, evaluate investment returns, etc.).
  • Strategy Development: Apply critical thinking and analysis to help evaluate and prioritize opportunities and define recommendations that facilitate strategic decisions.
  • Presentation & Communication: Synthesize insights into compelling, outcome-oriented recommendations for leadership through reports, presentations, financial models.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on strategic initiatives to understand implications and refine recommendations.

Who You Are

We’re looking for candidates who embody the following values:

  • Structured Thinker: You enjoy shaping vague or complex questions and hypotheses into organized, structured analyses and frameworks (i.e., untangling the knot).
  • Outcome-Oriented: You focus on insights that compel action, not just interesting findings.
  • Evidence-Guided: You back recommendations with thorough analysis, balancing attention to detail with efficiency.
  • Curious & Resourceful: You delight in learning, exploring new ideas, collaboratively brainstorming, and proactively seeking out information or experts.
  • Proactively Collaborative: You excel at working independently, but also actively build relationships to foster healthy dialogue and gain stakeholder buy-in or feedback.
  • Agile: You adjust quickly to changing priorities while maintaining high quality standards, and enjoy operating with some degree of ambiguity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytic / quantitative field such as business, economics, finance, or engineering - or have sufficient experience and knowledge required for the role.
  • 2+ years of experience in an analytical role preferred.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving, including the ability to break down a problem, logically structure thoughts, identify key questions, challenge assumptions, and recommend solutions.
  • Foundational knowledge of general business concepts and terminology, including strategic consulting frameworks and / or financial statements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to synthesize data and present findings concisely.
  • Experience (internships, coursework, projects) in financial modeling and/or data analysis.
  • Skilled in Excel/Google Sheets, including formulas, functions, basic modeling, and simple data visualization.
  • Proficient in SQL (ability to write queries to extract data), or have demonstrated aptitude in similar database extraction language(s).
  • Comfortable operating with high energy and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
