Position: Player Development Associate (Affiliate)

Reports to: Minor League Video Technology Coordinator
Duration: March 2025 – September 2025
Status: Part time seasonal (ability to travel and work non-traditional hours)
Position Summary:
This individual will provide on-site video, information and logistical support for coaches, players, non-uniform staff during minor league spring training in Arizona and during the minor league season at their assigned affiliate team. This role will be an immersive player development experience that includes hands-on training with cutting edge performance technology and video, baseball data and operational logistics while being an integral part of a team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, be able to communicate effectively to non-technical people, strong organizational skills and have both passion and intellectual curiosity for the game of baseball.
Position Responsibilities: Work closely with Analyst and Video Coordinator to ensure all video and data captures are accurate and secure in designated database in a timely fashion and handle daily distribution of baseball data to coaches and players as needed.
● Work closely with Assistant Director on executing day-to-day team operations
● Video set up, capture, post processing and distribution of all home/road games
● Log in-game video data using BATS software
● Assist with transportation, travel and housing logistics for players at the affiliate
● Prepare and distribute advance game planning and video materials before each series and update as roster changes happen
● Work with coaching staff to create videos that strategically enhance daily game plan and to provide full video and technology coverage for all pregame baseball work.
● Stage equipment for the day
o Ensure tracking and VR headsets are charged and ready to use.
o Ensure video retrieval stations and iPads have the most recent video sync.
o Ensure advance video is visible and playing in designated location
Skills and Qualifications:
● Ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays as dictated by the baseball calendar
● Ability to communicate effectively to all members of Baseball Operations
● Familiarity with networking and basic IT concepts a plus
● Basic experience working with scripting languages (Python, PHP, VBA, etc.) a plus
● Experience with BATS software, VR, Trackman, Dropbox, TruMedia, Edgertronic, Blast, Hawk-Eye are a plus but not necessary
● Passion for baseball, intellectual curiosity, baseball or softball playing experience and understanding of team dynamics is a plus
