Sankofa Montessori seeks an experienced Part Time Certified Nursing Assistant who will be responsible for providing health services support to our school community. Reporting to the Associate of Operations, the Part Time Certified Nursing Assistant will serve the health needs of our students and staff, provide health-related tasks, including first aid and medication administration as needed, maintain student health records, and help ensure that the school complies with any state or district health-related requirements. The Clinic Aide will also support our nutrition program.

Start Date: January 6th, 2025

Hours: M-F; 8 AM-1 PM

Student Health Administration

• Provides basic first aid and care for minor injuries and illness and chronic health conditions according to a detailed protocol established by the supervisor or the healthcare provider order signed by the child’s parents;
• Takes vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration rate, pulse ox, and blood pressure);
• Contacts parents of students who need to be picked up from school according to established school health services protocols or as directed by the supervisor;
• Contacts EMS according to established school health services protocols or as directed by the supervisor;
• Maintains records (sorting, filing, reviewing for completeness);
• Assists with screening programs;
• Sends routine notices to parents; 
• Orders and maintain health office supplies
• Serve as a Trained Diabetes Personnel after receiving appropriate training0

• Helps ensure school compliance with federal, state, and local school district guidelines and requirements
• Ensures timeliness, accuracy, and thoroughness of medical documentation including monitoring of immunizations
• Supports with school nutrition program 

Requirements

For this position, we’re looking for candidates that possess a combination of the following skills:

• Previous experience in health care - certified by the state as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), or Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) is required
• Formal first aid training through the Red Cross or a similar program, or may have gone through a campus or district specific orientation and training related to school health such as medication administration, or specific health conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy.
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up and follow-through
• Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and ability to prioritize
• Excellent customer service; strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional work ethic; very reliable and responsible  
• Flexible, willing to learn and take on new responsibilities  
• Warm and firm demeanor.

• Sankofa Montessori’s compensation philosophy is to offer a competitive salary that depends on prior experience, as well as a benefits package. Sankofa Montessori is committed to internal pay equity throughout our organization. Because of this, we do not negotiate salary offers outside our salary bands.
