Licensed Veterinary Technician, Integrative & Rehabilitative Medicine - job 1 of 2

Perform a variety of duties in the Rehabilitation Therapy Unit and perform rehabilitation treatments

Qualifications

  • NYS Veterinary Technician’s license (or permit)
  • Ability to handle and restrain all species of animal
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend or kneel for extended periods of time while helping with patient restraint and not mind getting wet
  • Must be able to work successfully as part of a team
  • Must also be able work independently and proactively
  • Have ability to follow detailed directions and established protocols
  • Basic computer skills a must
  • Ability to correctly complete large amount of paperwork is necessary
  • Must have flexibility necessary to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as needed
  • CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) or CCRA (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant) is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Rehabilitation treatments including exercising, massage, hot/cold packing, tub/treadmill treatments, ultrasound, hot/cold therapy, laser treatments and acupuncture
  • Assess patients on discharge
  • Communicate professionally with clients and referral veterinarians regarding the patient’s rehabilitation progress
  • Maintain concise and accurate records of the patient’s treatment progress and charges
  • Assist in planning, performing and tailoring rehabilitation treatments according to patient’s needs
  • Maintain the cleanliness of Rehabilitation Department
  • Order and stock supplies as necessary
  • All other related duties as assigned

$30.00 – $40.00 per hour
